How to view old Instagram Stories

There is a false belief that Instagram Stories expire after 24 hours, but it is not entirely true. We can see old Instagram Stories with a couple of clicks from our Instagram profile.

Of course, we can only see the ones that we have uploaded, but we can still remember certain moments of our life, rescue memes, videos, selfie, trips, etc.

We are going to go straight to the heart of the matter and for this the first thing is to open the Instagram app on our mobile and click on our profile.

How to change the background color of Instagram Stories

  • Now we must click on the 3 horizontal lines that we see in the upper right corner.
  • Then we choose the “Archive” option .
  • Right there all the Stories that we have been uploading appear. The funny thing is that it does not scroll from bottom to top like the Instagram feed, but on the contrary, from top to bottom , since it is a timeline.
  • We can go looking until we find the Story we want. Once we click on it, we can click “Share” and a new Story automatically opens and the date of the memory appears.
  • The date can be deleted, just drag it down and take it to the trash that appears. We can add elements to that new Story such as GIFs, text, tags, music, etc.

In this simple and easy way we can review all the Stories that we have uploaded, and share those we want again. It is also convenient to know that saving all this implies that the Instagram app will occupy more space on our phone.

We can disable the saving of files by clicking on the 3 vertical dots and selecting the option that we mark in the screenshot below.

  • It will be within the configuration where the option to deactivate the saving of files automatically appears.

Now that we know that Stories are saved forever, we can visit the story archives section every time we need to rescue a specific Story from our past, or see the memories of previous years.
