In what situations can disabling comments on our Facebook posts help us?
Disabling comments can be beneficial. For example, when some posts go viral , comments can be disabled to prevent interaction. It can also be useful to prevent notifications from being annoying. And even to not have to receive comments from a specific person.
How can I disable comments on my Facebook posts before I share them?
The truth is that some Facebook users want to disable comments as much as they want to remove likes. For this reason, it’s great that Facebook has this feature available on its platform, and here’s how to do it from PC, from the main mobile app, or fromFacebook Lite.
on PC
First you have to open the menu that is located on the arrow in the upper right corner and go to ‘Settings and privacy’ and then to ‘Settings’. From there , go to ‘Publicly Available Posts’ and go to ‘Comments on Publicly Available Posts’. There you can change the settings of who can comment’.
From the mobile app
In this case you have to do almost the same ‘Settings and privacy’, ‘Settings’ and then ‘Privacy’. From there, go to ‘Public Access Publications’ and then ‘Comments on Publicly Available Publications’. Again, from there you can edit who has the ability to make and view comments.
With Facebook Lite
Since Facebook Lite is nothing more than a variant of the main Facebook application, only lighter, the procedure is the same as in the main application.
What procedure should I follow to deactivate the comments of my already published post?
As already seen, disabling comments on a post on Facebook is beneficial. Unfortunately, however, there is still no option to disable them after they are published . What can be done is to limit the people who can see the post, and how to do it from the web and from mobile apps will be shown below.
From Facebook Lite
To be able to limit who sees a post on Facebook Lite, simply go to ‘Settings’, then scroll to ‘Audience & Visibility’ and then ‘Posts’. When you’re there you’ll see an option that says ‘Limit who can see your past posts.
When you click on that option, you should look for the box that says ‘Limit old posts’ and then click on ‘Confirm’ so that the decision is applied to our posts. Once this is done, the publications will follow the selected pattern
with the web server
If you want to do it from your computer, you simply have to enter our profile, search for the publication in question and click on ‘Audience Selector’ . Clicking on that option will show all the possible audience selections that can be made to limit who sees the post. Selecting it will save the change automatically.
Using the app
In the case of the main application of Facebook, which is the most used andthe most downloaded, the same procedure must be followed as in the case of Facebook Lite, since the two work in a similar way.
What can I do if Facebook won’t let me disable comments on my posts?
Now, as has already been said, Facebook does not allow you to disable comments on posts on its platform, since it was created to interact. However, it is possible to prevent a large number of people from commenting by using the previously mentioned method of limiting your audience.
Unfortunately this feature is not available, and hopefully it will be soon. However, until that day comes, this tutorial is highly recommended for all those users who want to limit comments. However, there are other great features, like the ability to deactivate a Facebook account
