How to set up a VPN on Android

Setting up a VPN on the Android operating system is as easy as having the data of the VPN provider and filling in the corresponding fields in a specific section of the connection settings of your Android mobile or tablet so that you can connect to the VPN.

A VPN establishes a secure connection on the Internet and offers a series of very interesting advantages compared to a normal connection, the main ones being that it offers more privacy and anonymity, although its benefits are other, so at some point it should be used.

And there are certain reasons to use a VPN at specific times , some of them are those that we mentioned just in the previous paragraph, but they are not the only ones and you may want to configure a VPN on your Android phone in case you want to use this service in some chance.

The only thing you need to have is the data of the VPN provider to be able to fill in the corresponding section on Android with those parameters, you will have to do it manually following some very simple steps as you can see below:

  1. On your Android phone, open the settings and go to “connect and share .
  1. Once inside, look for the “VPN” option .
  1. Now, click on the “+” symbol and add the different required parameters , in this case the name, the type of VPN, the server address, the encryption and some more information. It is important that you fill them in correctly so that you can connect via VPN.

And voila, only then will you have to select it to connect, you can add as many VPNs as you want on your phone , but you can only connect to one at a time. You may have realized that you have to enter the data yourself, which can be a bit tedious.

If you do not want to fill in data, you have another equally valid option, the possibility of using VPN applications for Android , they are applications that allow you to quickly establish a VPN connection without complications because most of them are to connect and navigate safely.

Either of the two possibilities is good for you to have a VPN connection on Android , with the first option you will have to put all the data one by one, although if you use an application you only have to open it and connect directly, it is already a matter of taste to choose which option you choose.
