Learn how to increase shelter happiness in Fallout Shelter with these effective strategies. Keep your dwellers happy and thriving in the post-apocalyptic world!
Happiness is key to growth in Fallout Shelter: to keep your dwellers happy (and working harder) you need to check out these happiness boosting tips.
Fallout Shelter , the free-to-play construction and management game for mobile devices (it’s also on PC and all consoles, including Nintendo Switch ) doesn’t have a single fixed objective: you can play to make the biggest shelter, to have all the items , to complete more missions.
But in general, the goal that every shelter supervisor should have is to achieve the greatest possible happiness for the inhabitants. It is not a utopia: the happier the inhabitants are, the more efficient their production will be and the greater our growth.
It’s easy to see if your dwellers are happy or not: you’ll see green, yellow, or, in the worst case, red smiley faces . And at all times, you’ll see a percentage in the top left corner showing the overall happiness of all dwellers. But how do you get happiness in Fallout Shelter?
How to Increase Shelter Happiness in Fallout Shelter
The main way to increase happiness in Fallout Shelter is to correctly assign dwellers to the rooms where they will be most efficient. Understanding the SPECIAL system and which rooms you should place dwellers in is at the core of the game.
“Playing Fallout Shelter right” means correctly distributing the dwellers in each room. To do this, you need to look at their stats. Click on each dweller and you will see a graph with the SPECIAL points
Even if you don’t know what it means, depending on which stat they have the highest you should put them in one room or another . And the correspondence is:
- S (Strength) – power generators and nuclear reactors
- P (Perception) – water treatment plants and purifiers
- R (Resistance) – Nuka Cola winery and bottling plant
- C (Charisma) – radio rooms, barbershops and accommodations
- I (Intelligence) – infirmaries and laboratories
- A (agility) – cafes and gardens (food)
- L (Luck) – not assigned to a specific room, but determines how many caps you get in any production room and how successful you are in Express Mode
Some rooms have a bigger impact on happiness than others. For example, putting dwellers with a lot of C (charisma) in the radio room will increase the happiness of the entire shelter.
And of course, pairing residents of opposite sexes in housing will not only increase the “production” of residents, it will also make them happier.
Other ways to momentarily increase happiness is by using Express Mode – if successful, it will increase the happiness of the inhabitants in that room.
By assigning the inhabitants well you will ensure that they are happy and therefore work better. Everything goes hand in hand: with greater production they have more water, food and energy , and therefore they will be better off.
