FPS is what gives you a lot of fluidity and naturalness in the game. The top players in the world tend to play at high FPS because they get the advantage in combat. The problem is that in order to increase the number of frames per second, you need to have a computer with the appropriate hardware and software.
Here we will focus on your computer. If you have low perks, you won’t be able to raise your FPS much in Fortnite, although you can do a few things to increase it…Want to know what it is?
Fortnite Minimum Requirements
First, check out the game’s minimum requirements to get an idea of how much you can expect from your computer:
- CPU :I3 2.4.
- RAM : 4 GB.
- Special video cards : Intel HD 4000 minimum.
- System Operational : Windows 7-bit 64 or higher (Windows 10 recommended).
- Espacio : 15 GB free on hard drive.
Now that you know the minimum requirements, it’s time to explore our methods for increasing FPS in the game:
Turn on performance mode
El performance mode This is an option that Epic Games has included in Fortnite for users with a modest team. It can be accessed through the settings menu. Its function is to change the visual quality, reduce the consumption of RAM and reduce the load on the CPU and GPU . Consequence: Fortnite is faster.
To enable performance mode, follow these steps:
- enter fortnite
- open the menu and go to Settings
- in the Video tab , look for the “Advanced Graphics” section
- under “Render Mode” change to “Performance (alpha)”
- click apply and restart the game
Remove high resolution textures
Be sure to enable performance mode to complete this step. Once you’ve done that, sign in to the Epic Games Launcher and follow these steps:
- find Fortnite and click on the three dots next to it
- enter parameters
- uncheck “High Resolution Textures”
This will remove the high resolution textures and save you over 14 GB of memory.
Reduce Fortnite Graphics Quality
In the settings in the “Video” section, find the quality of the graphics and set it to the minimum. This also disables the others. Don’t lower the 3D resolution that much, try leaving it at 80 and see if the game still looks good.
Then enter the part Graph » Image Rate Limit. There you can set the FPS. Set the FPS between 30 and 60 depending on your computer’s specs. Don’t go there or you’ll force the PC.
Delete the %TEMP% folder
Windows has a %TEMP% folder that stores temporary files for some programs. most of them are garbage and what they do is consume memory so you can delete them.
To do this, open the Windows launcher and find the %TEMP% folder, go into it, select everything and delete it. Some files won’t be deleted, but don’t worry about that. If you receive a warning, click “Ignore All” and continue with the following methods.
Delete files you don’t need
Regardless of the characteristics of the computer, it should always be kept clean and properly maintained. Over time, many files appear, such as photos, videos, music, etc., they cease to be important. We recommend that you completely remove all this junk to free up storage space.
Don’t forget to delete them permanently from the trash (make sure there’s nothing important first).
Uninstalling programs
As in the previous case, many programs become useless over time, including games that you no longer play. Remove all this and you will see that the computer began to work more smoothly.
close programs
If you are going to dedicate yourself to the game, close unnecessary programs such as browser, music player, office programs, image viewer, etc. This way, the computer will not consume resources unnecessarily.
Don’t let your computer overheat
Fortnite is a pretty demanding game. Avoid overheating your computer or it may damage any of its components. To prevent this from happening, locate yourself in a cool and well-ventilated area (with the best air conditioning available), perform internal maintenance on your PC, avoid running multiple resource-intensive programs at the same time, and make sure the fan is working properly.
Update your graphics drivers
Graphics card manufacturers are constantly releasing updates to their drivers to ensure maximum performance. Ideally, you have the last of these so that the graphics card and the computer’s operating system interact better.
Set up your system
In this last step, you are going to do a few things.
Disable autoloading apps
To do this, you will need to enter Windows Settings, click on Home and then on Applications . There you will see all the applications that automatically open when you turn on your computer.
Turn off the ones you are not interested in. For example, Epic Games doesn’t need to be active because if you want to play Fortnite, you open it directly and that’s it. You don’t want it to appear at startup every time you turn on your PC.
Disable as many apps as possible. Just leave the ones that are important.
Turn off notifications
In Settings go to System and then to Notifications y Actions . Turn off all or most notifications. This is important if your computer meets the minimum requirements to run Fortnite.
If your computer is a little better, it may not be necessary to disable notifications. The problem is that when many come, the game can lag for a few seconds.
Disable Game Options
Without leaving the settings, go to Juego and then to the Game bar . Disable the first option which says “Record game clips, screenshots and broadcast using Game Bar”. Although it may seem that this option consumes extra resources that slow down the game.
Keep Windows up to date
It’s like updating your graphics drivers. You go and enter Settings, Update & Security and you will activate the automatic updates of the operating system.
These are all the tricks we have up our sleeves to increase FPS in Fortnite. Tell us in the comments if they worked for you and which method gave you the best results.
