How to Eat Sweets and Not Gain Weight

Elena Kozlovskaya, a top-category endocrinologist and nutritionist at the Fomin Clinic network in Perm, told Zdorovie Mail.ru how to enjoy sweets without worrying about your figure.

To avoid gaining extra weight while on vacation, include more vegetables, grains, and protein foods in your diet.

Fruits are healthy and tasty, but their quantity should be controlled, consumed after the main meal. This will help satisfy the feeling of hunger and at the same time control the caloric intake of food.

Sweet drinks, including cocktails, are not recommended. They can be replaced with mineral water, herbal infusions or water with lemon, which quenches thirst well in the heat.

2. Physical activity

Don’t forget about sports or regular physical activity on vacation. Walking, swimming, yoga – all this will help burn extra calories, maintain tone and a good mood.

3. Have a cheat meal once a week

It’s a magical moment when you can forget about the rules and enjoy your favorite treats. It’s a special meal when sweets and other unhealthy foods become acceptable.

Just allow yourself such a “day off” no more than once a week, so as not to gain weight.
