Did you know that changing the resolution of Fortnite can help you get more kills and win more games? Ironically, this is true, and professional players know this. In fact, Epic Games is aware of this fact: changing the resolution improves the gaming experience.
This is more important for PC gamers as they can set their own resolution. See how you can achieve this:
Adjust the resolution of Fortnite in the game.
Go to Settings and then Audio & Display » Display Area Settings. There you can change the resolution of the game by zooming in or out on the screen.
Then go to Video output settings » Resolution and set the desired resolution. We recommend trying each one until you find the one that gives you the best results. Save changes and restart the game.
This process is similar to a computer, console, and mobile phone. In each section, you can also change other settings.
How to set custom resolution in Fortnite (PC)?
If you want something more tailored to your tastes, you can only have it on your computer as there are more resolution options. However, you must create permission to make changes to the game file . It’s simple, just follow these steps:
- open the windows launcher and find AppData (if there are several folders, open the first one)
- open folders Local » FortniteGame » Saved » Configuration » WindowsClient » GameUseSettings
- right click the file and go to properties
- uncheck “read-only” at the bottom and apply the changes
- open the file with notepad and look in the top menu for Edit » Replace
- Buska 1080 and change the number to the vertical resolution you need, for example 1050 and click Replace All
- Buska 1920 and change the number to the desired horizontal resolution, for example 1680 and click Replace All
- save file
- go back to properties and check “read-only”
- save changes
This will set your resolution to 1680 x 1050. You can try other resolutions by changing the numbers in step 6 and 7. If you don’t like how it looks, leave it as it was or keep trying other resolutions.

Why change the resolution of Fortnite?
Here are some of the reasons given by Fortnite players:
- sometimes the screen is not filled with the game
- you can see your enemies better and the map in general with some permissions
- you get the best gaming experience
- game runs smoother
- if your computer has low performance, square resolution improves its performance
- you take advantage of your rivals
According to PRO gamers, vertical resolution improves visibility, helps you shoot more accurately, makes building easier, and because it consumes fewer resources, it increases FPS.
What is the most popular Fortnite resolution?
Preferred resolutions: square or vertical. Among them stand out 4:3, 5:3, 5:4 and 5:5. All of these permissions are legal, so Epic Games will not penalize you.
