Career path

Born and living in Santiago de Cuba , he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in 1990 .

He was Senior Senior Specialist in architecture and urban planning at the Design and Architecture Company No.15 (Emroy 15) in Santiago de Cuba, and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Construction of the Universidad de Oriente .

Since 2013 he had been National President of the Technical Commission for Hospital Architecture and Engineering and since 2014 he was National President of the Architecture Society, both of the UNAICC .

He studied Masters, Diplomas and Postgraduate degrees on topics such as: Conservation and Exploitation of Heritage, Organization of Works, IMS Construction Systems, Superior Pedagogy, Architecture for Health, Business Management, Management and preparation of events, and Safe Hospitals.

He did professional work in Nicaragua and Angola .

Main projects worked on

  • Multipurpose room “Alejandro Urgellés”
  • Remodeling of several buildings, among them the hotels, including ” Imperial“, “Enramadas”, and ” Libertad “; the Universal Business and Warehouse Center; the “Maternal North”, “Ambrosio Grillo” and Pediatric North Hospitals, as well as the Intensive Care and Hemodialysis Rooms, and the Ebola Laboratory in Santiago de Cuba.
  • Road Landscape Project. Roundabout Airport, the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Santiago de Cuba. Conceptual Ideas, the Baseball Stadium of La Maya, rural primary schools, and the architectural intervention of the Villa Gaviota Santiago de Cuba.

Acknowledgments

Among his well-deserved recognitions are the Provincial Award for Life and Work of Architecture in 2017 , awards at the XI Biennial of the Caribbean in 2019 and at the XV Biennial of Costa Rica in 2020 . He was also National President of the Organizing Committee of Architecture and Urbanism Halls, founding member of Unaicc and Uneac, and Advisor to the government architecture commission in Santiago de Cuba.
