How to get invulnerability, money, resources, items and more
XCOM: Chimera Squad is the latest installment in a series of turn-based tactical shooters. This time you have to manage a squad consisting of people, aliens and their hybrids. Events are developing in City-31, where creatures of all the races listed have been living for a long time.
There are no hidden cheat codes in the game, however, you can activate the developer’s console, which includes a huge number of a wide variety of commands. Let’s figure out how to do this and what you need to enter.
How do I unlock the developer console?
First you need to edit the properties of the game shortcut. Perhaps you do not have this shortcut on your desktop, but the game itself is launched through Steam. There may be another option, when when editing a property of an automatically added shortcut, there is simply no required line. In this case, you will have to create a shortcut manually. There are several ways:
- Open Steam, go to the game library and search for SCOM Chimera Squad. Right-click on the name of the game, select “Control” and in the pop-up window you will see the command “Create a shortcut on the desktop”.
- The second option is to go to the Steam / steamapps / commonfolder, find the folder for the game you want , open Binaries / Win64 . There will be many files, and among them an exe file to run the game. Right-click on it and select the “Send to Desktop” option.
After you create a shortcut on the desktop, right-click on it and select “Properties”. Pay attention to the item “Object”. Nearby there is a window with the path to the game exe-file. Add one space to the specified path followed by -allowconsole. After that, during the game, just click on ~ to display the console line.
Note . In addition to the developer console, the game has a debug menu. To do this, add the -autodebug command separated by a space to the “Object” of the shortcut. After that, various functions will be available in the main menu of the game, which you must understand yourself. However, the most notable innovation will be that on the map of City-31 there will be a button for auto-completion of battles. If you turn it on, then any missions to which soldiers are sent in armored personnel carriers will be completed automatically. Fighters will gain experience, you will receive other rewards, but some Agents may return with injuries. However, even a completely injured squad will surely complete the task successfully.
However, the debug menu has its drawback: during the game, a red error screen will periodically pop up. No, it will not force you to urgently leave the game, restart your computer. Just press ESC and the menu will disappear. That is, this menu slightly spoils the visual component of the game.
Console commands
This console line predominantly uses the same console command, which simply changes the name of the desired item. Here’s the general formula:
- GiveResource XY, where X is the name of the item / resource and Y is the desired amount.
In addition, there are additional commands like:
- god – invulnerability mode;
- givemetonsofresources – get all basic resources, 10,000 each (elerium, credits and intelligence);
- help – see a list of additional commands (not all of them are useful);
- teleportToCursor – move the current Agent to the cursor;
- killsquad – kill an incoming squad.
