Why you should not use the integrated socket of your PLCs

To ensure that the Internet connection is adequate, works fast and stable, we can count on different devices that help improve it. This is the case of PLCs . They are very useful to take the connection from one place to another in the house when coverage is limited. But for them to work well it is important to take into account certain tips. In this article we are going to talk about why it is a bad option to connect devices to the integrated socket that comes with some PLCs.

Do not use the built-in socket of PLCs

If you have decided to buy PLC devices to improve the Wi-Fi connection at home or you already have them, you may have seen that some models have an integrated plug. Basically it serves to connect any other device to electricity and thus not have to do without a plug. If, for example, you are going to put it in a room where there is only one power outlet, with this you avoid that problem.

You can connect anything to that socket , such as a computer, television, a lamp… However, it is not a good idea. Why do we say this? If you connect another electronic device it will cause interference and that will mean that the quality of the connection decreases and you may have problems.

It does not mean that the PLCs stop working, but it does mean that it could affect the quality of the connection a lot . It will be especially noticeable if you plug in a device that can use frequencies close to Wi-Fi and place it nearby, such as a device that uses Bluetooth, which works on the 2.4 GHz frequency.

Therefore, although at first you may think that it is a good idea to buy PLCs that have this integrated current connector , our advice is that you do not use them. If you have a model of this type, you better leave it as it is, without connecting anything. If you doubt whether it is worth paying something more to have a device with these characteristics, it is best to save that difference and thus avoid problems.

The further away from other devices, the better

The ideal for PLC devices to work properly is for them to be as far away as possible from other electronic devices. You can put them anywhere, but always make sure that there are no other devices that can create interference and make the connection not work as we would like.

The same thing happens with the router. We always say that the router must be placed in a good place , away from electronic devices, in an isolated space and where it does not receive excessive heat. The same must apply to PLC devices if you want to make the most of the available resources and not have problems.

Therefore, as you have seen, it is not a good idea to use the current connectors of the PLC. Even if you see that you have this option, our advice is that you do not use it unless it is strictly necessary. You will get the Internet connection to work better and you will also avoid possible problems that may affect the useful life of your devices.
