Why should you believe In Religion?

– “To believe” means to be convinced that something is true. A person who believes in something shown by definitive evidence cannot have the luxury of choosing whether to believe or not. For example, it is impossible for a person to ignore the sun he sees in the middle of the day in cloudless weather; “Should I believe it or not?” There can be no hesitation. Likewise, hesitating in the presence of a sun of truth seen by the eye of reason under the light of knowledge is a sign of ignorance.

The basis of Islamic belief is belief in Allah and the afterlife. Believing in these -truly- is only possible with Hz. It is realized by believing that Muhammad is the true messenger of Allah and the Quran is the true word of Allah. Accordingly, the main source of this belief is the Quran. Because the Quran is a book that we see with our physical eyes and hold with our hands, and a treasure trove of miracles whose heavenly and divine identity we observe with the eyes of our mind and heart. Then, believing in Islam means believing in what the Quran says.

– When a student is heedless of the importance of studying and the painful consequences of failing a class, he spends his days laughing and having fun with his friends. Closing one’s eyes to the facts and forgetting the stages of reckoning and torment that begin with death can also give temporary pleasure to heedless people in this mortal world. These are similar to “poisonous honey” .

– The Quran declares to us clearly and repeatedly in hundreds of verses that, if a person who believes in Islam acts in line with this belief, he will never die again and will not have any sorrow in heaven, where he will live an eternal life of happiness in the afterlife. On the other hand, whoever does not believe in the truths revealed by Islam will be condemned to stay in hell forever.

Now to these two facts; In other words, a person who truly believes that the result of believing is going to heaven and the consequence of not believing is suffering in hell is indifferent to this issue and says, “Never mind; Is it possible for him to say, “Such things don’t concern me, I enjoy myself, I don’t bother myself by thinking about them…” ?

Is it possible for a person who feels that he has to give up the important joys and pleasures of his soul for fear of two days of imprisonment to act indifferently in the face of hellish imprisonment?

What mind allows a person who works day and night and endures many difficulties for the sake of a short worldly life, so to speak, not to walk on a path that leads to an eternal home like heaven?

– It is an unchangeable principle of human nature that a person interprets and perceives events according to what rules and settles in his heart and mind. For example, a pessimistic person reads and understands everything pessimistically, and his life is shaped accordingly. An optimistic person, on the other hand , watches everything from a lens of optimism and perceives life accordingly. Just as red glasses make things look red, black glasses make things look black.

Since a non-believer sees the universe as meaningless, useless, and the plaything of chance, everything reflects on him as painful and distressing. Since the believer knows that everything is meaningful, useful and under God’s control and control, everything reflects on him as pleasant and peaceful.

Hz. If it were not for the light of faith and the light of Islam brought by Muhammad (pbuh), humanity would not be able to correctly read and understand the universe and the events taking place in the universe. Thus, humanity would remain in terrible darkness and despair.

For example , someone who does not believe in the afterlife sees death as nothingness and nonexistence. He perceives the grave as a well of nothingness. A person with the light of faith , on the other hand, sees death as the beginning of an eternal world, and the grave as an entrance, a door to happiness, with this light. He understands that death is not a source of fear and separation pain, but a means of reuniting with friends and acquaintances.

An unbeliever sees the evil and absence that prevails throughout the universe as mournful and grieving, like a house with a funeral. He perceives everything and every being as an enemy and a stranger. The eye of a heart enlightened by the light of faith sees the universe not as a mournful and mournful house, but as a joyful barracks that has completed its duty and is eager to return to its original homeland. Every being is perceived as a soldier and servant of God on duty, not as a stranger and enemy, but as a friend and acquaintance.

In addition, humans are altruistic by nature. In other words, man is a social being who is happy with the pleasures of others and suffers from the torments of others. It is impossible for a person to enjoy life while everyone is in torment.

However, since he is faithless and sees everything as meaningless and poor people doomed to non-existence, the universe, from his perspective, is like a general house of mourning. They perceive everyone as crying orphans. In order to be happy in such a situation, one must either silence the mind and emotions and become like an animal, or have a hard heart that does not care about those who suffer around them. Since both situations are impossible, it is not possible to achieve true happiness through denial and unbelief.

A person who is disturbed by the bright lights and colors of the sun and closes his eyes creates night only for himself…

– Let’s not forget that the Prophet was very upset because he could not convert his uncle Abu Talib. Allah both warned and consoled the Prophet with the following verse:

“You cannot guide whomever you wish, but only Allah guides whomever He wishes. He knows very well those who will come to the right path.”  (Kasas, 28/56) .

Yes, it is a fact that just as heaven wants a man, hell also wants a man. Just as heaven is not cheap, hell is not unnecessary. We will do our best, but we will not forget that guidance is in the hands of Allah.
