Why did God create evil?

Our dear brother,

The Problem of Evil

As you know, the biggest claim of those who defend atheism and deism is the problem of evil. Why did God create evil? Freud, who cannot solve the problem of evil, that is, goes around talking about atheism in books about if God is powerful (David Human’s thesis) , why are these children dying? Why is there evil? Why did he create evil? Why was it given to a creator to create evil? This cannot solve the problem of evil.

When there is no goodness, evil prevails. So if the good ones sit idly by, they are responsible. It is enough for evil that good people do nothing. So the good ones need to be proactive.

God has created a being who always has the opportunity to do good. Angels only do good, they cannot do evil. He created the devil to always do evil. The Creator wants to create a being that has the freedom to do good or evil, chooses between good and evil, and wants to test freedom. This being is also human… Human beings have both the opportunity to do good and the opportunity to do evil. However, a person who manages to do good even though he has the opportunity to do evil or good has put our Prophet (pbuh) as a role model.

While there is a model of doing good and evil, the highest model of doing good is that he lived as a prophet for 23 years and always preferred goodness. He tells us to be like this, he gives us the Messenger of Allah as a role model and this as a test for our minds.

Beings that have the opportunity to do evil and do good have been created. A good example of this is Merkez Efendi. Sümbül Efendi is Merkez Efendi’s teacher. There is Merkez Efendi Cemetery in Istanbul. It has a mosque and a tomb. Sümbül Efendi gathers his three students. He chooses one of them and asks , “If you were in God’s place, how would you create the universe?” Someone says; “I would do everyone good.” , the other one is “I would destroy all evil.” says. Merkez Efendi said,  “I would leave everything at the center.” says. From now on, his name became Merkez Efendi .

Because it is a matter of wisdom that God creates good and evil in balance. There is testing because there is death. We are not in an immortal world, where 51% of us choose the good ones and 51% of us choose the bad ones throughout our lives. As a result of an exam, at the end of our lives, we will either succeed or fail in that exam. Such a universe was created.
