Telegram provides notifications that promptly inform the user about incoming messages. They are enabled by default, but may not work for a number of reasons. You will learn about them and ways to solve the problem from our material.
General notification settings in the application
First, check the general notification settings in the Telegram app.
Open the menu by clicking on the three horizontal dots at the top left.

Turn on notifications from all chats if you want Telegram to notify you about all private messages.

Find the person you are not receiving notifications about.

Device notification settings
Make sure that notifications for Telegram are allowed on your device. Let’s look at the settings using the OPPO A78 smartphone as an example.
Go to your phone’s Settings.
Find the “Applications” section and open it.
Select “Application Management” or something similar on your phone.
In the list of applications that opens, find “Telegram” and open settings.
Check if notifications are allowed.

Power saving modes and battery optimization
Turn off power saving mode and battery optimization for Telegram, as they may limit the app’s background operation and block notifications.
Open Settings.
Find the “Battery” section and open it
Find the item responsible for configuring the operation of individual applications.
Find Telegram in the list of applications.
Allow it to run in the background and enable other settings if needed.
Do Not Disturb Mode
Check if your device has Do Not Disturb mode enabled, which blocks all notifications. Disable it if it is enabled.
Problems connecting to the Internet
If you don’t complain about frequently missing notifications, but sometimes they still don’t arrive, then check if your internet is working. For example, you may not receive notifications at work. Maybe you are in a place where the signal disappears. Or, if you don’t receive notifications at home, then check how often the Wi-Fi or mobile internet signal disappears.
Clearing the application cache
Try clearing Telegram cache.
Bring up the menu by clicking on the three horizontal dots.
Select “Settings”.
Select Data and Storage.
Click on “Memory Usage”
Click on “Clear Cache”.
Updating the application
Make sure you have the latest version of Telegram installed, as updates may contain bug fixes and notification improvements.
