Who is who in the world of Devil May Cry

Brief biographies of the main characters in the DMC universe

On March 8, 2019, Devil May Cry 5 is released , a continuation of a story that began back in 2001. If you have forgotten or know nothing at all about the plot of this series, but want to keep abreast of the main events, check out our brief retelling . In this article, we will talk about the key characters of the early parts of Devil May Cry. Many of them will appear in the fifth game of the series.

Dante

Dante is the protagonist of all parts of the Devil May Cry series . As the son of the demon Sparda and the earthly woman Eve, he combines the traits of a human and a spawn of Hell. As a result, Dante is no stranger to compassion and a sense of justice, but at the same time he is strong and courageous, and, if necessary, can turn into a demon. Has an excellent sense of humor. After the events of the third part , where he fought with his brother Virgil, Dante opens an office for hunting demons. Actually, this is what he is doing to this day. In Devil May Cry 5, Dante is one of three playable characters.

Nero

Nero is the son of Virgil and the nephew of Dante. A pronounced teenager who is becoming a man before our eyes. He debuted in Devil May Cry 4 . He was raised by the Order of the Sword, who worshiped Sparda. Nero’s right hand is demonic, which indicates his origin. In the fourth part of the series, he initially confronted Dante, but switched to his side when he learned the true motives of the Order. Participated in the destruction of those who raised him. In the fifth part, Nero is the main playable character.

Virgil

Dante’s twin brother, who wanted to get the power of his father. For this, he entered into a deal with devilish creatures. As a result, he turned out to be a puppet of demons, first Arkham, then Mundus. Virgil is an excellent warrior, but in battles with Dante he was most often defeated. At the end of the first part, he was imprisoned in a demonic tower, however, judging by the trailers for Devil May Cry 5, he will still return.

Sparda

Father of Dante and Virgil. Sparda is a demon who betrayed his family and went over to the side of people. He defeated his fellows, including the emperor Mundus, after which he sealed the gates to Hell. Sparda wanted to stay in the human world along with the earthly woman Eve, but the demons found him and captured him. This character has never appeared live. Meanwhile, his sword and medallions play a big role in the plot of the series, and the final boss of Devil May Cry 4 is a statue that is made in the image of Sparda.

Trish

The girl that the demon Mundus created to lure Dante to his island. Outwardly resembles Eve. Trish tried to kill our hero, but in the end he saved her from certain death, and she went over to Dante’s side. She helped destroy Mundus, after which she began to cooperate with our hero in his office. Good relationship with Lady. During the events of the fourth part, she changed her appearance and called herself Gloria in order to infiltrate the ranks of the Order. From there, she passed on important information to Dante. Trish will definitely appear in the fifth installment of the series.

Lady

Demon Hunter Mary appears as the main female character in Devil May Cry 3. Dante met her in the Temen-ni-gru tower and has since referred to her as “Lady”. Daughter of the demon Arkham who killed her mother. Together with our hero, they defeated her father, and it was Mary who delivered the final blow. Unlike Trish, she did not cooperate with Dante, but went her own way. She appeared in the animated series as a lone demon hunter. She accused Dante of being unprofessional during the fight against the Order. Appears in Devil May Cry 5.
