Where to find the Fountain of the Horse God in TotK

I was so proud of myself the first time I successfully tamed a wild horse in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom… only to kill it instantly by accidentally hitting it with a sword. I felt SO guilty until I found out that you can resurrect horses at the Fountain of the Horse God – as if nothing had happened! Here is where to find the Fountain of the Horse God and Malanya in TotK.

Where to find the Malanya Horse God Fountain in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – exact location on the map

You can find Malanya, the god of horses, at the Fountain of the Horse God in Akkala region, specifically on Bloodleaf Lake at map coordinates 4294, 3207, 0149 .

The easiest way to get to the fountain is to go through Akkala East Stables and then follow the northwest path until you reach Bloodleaf Lake. Go through it to the other side, where you will see a wooden bridge. Malanya at the end.

How to get Endura Carrot in Zelda TotK

You will need Endura Carrot to free the Horse God from the flower bud and unlock his services. I found that the easiest way to get one is to head to the cherry tree in Hyrule Field at coordinates 0310, 0541, 0022 where you will find at least one Endura Carrot around its roots.

Also, check out my How to Get Endura Carrot in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom guide for a full list of ways to get the rare vegetable.

How to resurrect horses in Tears of the Kingdom

If you pay Malania one Roast Endura Carrot God Horse will revive one of your fallen horses if they were registered in the stable before they died. This is useful if, like me, you have a habit of accidentally killing your mounts in the most stupid ways.

Just talk to him and choose Revive Horse then give him a Roasted Endura Carrot and choose which horse you want to bring back to life (if you killed more than one).

How to Get Roasted Endura Carrots in Zelda TotK

Getting Roasted Endura Carrots is easy! Start a fire by throwing a bunch of wood and some flint on the ground, then hit the flint with your weapon to create a spark. Once the fire is lit, toss an endura carrot next to the flame to roast it.

Malanya offers a second service: improving the performance of the horse . Select Upgrade Horse and you will be taken to a menu with a list of all your horses from the stable.

The Horse God can improve the following stats in TotK:

  • Strength
  • Speed
  • Endurance
  • To pull

This time you will need actual cooked food to increase the horse’s stats, and they are different for each horse depending on the stats it already has. For example, to boost my regular brown horse’s Strength, I needed one Rich Roasted Wild Vegetable, but to upgrade Zelda’s Golden Horse, Malaina asked for three vegetable curries, three hot-butter apples, and three carrot cakes.

Please note that some rare horses, such as Epona, cannot be upgraded.
