Where the SED cyborgs came from

Understanding where the SED cyborgs came from and what place they occupy in the global shooter storyline

Last fall, the fifth playable class will appear in Warface – the SED combat cyborgs. New and returning fighters do not always understand what kind of robots they are, where they came from and what place they occupy in the global plot of the shooter.

SED-1: slow, tough, ruthless

SED first appeared in 2017 in the special operation Pripyat. And they immediately attracted a lot of attention – the battle with robots was so difficult that many players simply could not win it at the “Hard” and “Pro” levels. But this was not even the final bossfight – a good quarter of the scenario had to be overcome next!

Dealing with a group of only 2 SED prototypes proved to be much more difficult than destroying an entire air fortress, equipped with aircraft machine guns, missiles and a powerful force shield.

Even a few shots from a shotgun at close range will not stop the SED-1

And all because cyborgs are incredibly tenacious. Explosives, gunshot cannons are all useless against a painless enemy who, moreover, instantly regenerates armor if not kept under continuous fire. The SED has only one weak point – they are vulnerable to melee weapons, with which they were neutralized. Another disadvantage of robots is their low movement speed: while the robot took a couple of steps, the Warface fighter managed to run a dozen meters.

SED-2: Normal and Pyro

In the next special operation, “Sunrise”, Warface fighters go to an enemy island in Japanese territorial waters, where they meet new SED models.

The SED-2 models look much more perfect than their predecessors – the hulls are covered with a dense layer of synthetic musculature and armor plates, which makes it even more difficult to cope with new robots than with prototypes from Pripyat.

For the Pyro, your shots are like midge bites

The SED Pyro deserves special attention, which is armed with a portable flamethrower and carries an additional layer of protection. His armor regenerates so quickly that players need to reload their weapons 3-4 times in order to get close to the vulnerable points of the cyborg under dense fire.

Force shield is the best fire protection

The arsenal of other models has also become more perfect – a handheld high-explosive grenade launcher and grenades with poison gas have appeared in it.

SED is vulnerable in close combat. But the average player is too

However, the new model retained both shortcomings of the prototype: robots are still slow and vulnerable in close combat. Using this knowledge, Warface operatives destroy many SEDs and take control of part of the enemy base.

Operator’s seat SED

In the finale of Sunrise, fighters infiltrate the control center from which a live operator can remotely control SED assault models on Mars.

Thanks to the find, a large part of the next special operation takes place on the red planet – the Warface squad occupies the operator’s chairs and after a few minutes remotely controls the SED combat units.

The distance between Mars and Earth is about 401 million kilometers, but scientists from the Blackwood terrorist organization have managed to create a technology for instantaneous transfer of human consciousness. This technology is based on the use of a special bacterium – Sedrus . This microorganism is extremely difficult to find on Earth – in fact, it was his Blackwood samples that were collected in Pripyat.

SED on Mars

However, on Mars, Sedrus is much more common, which is why the peaceful colony “Oasis-4” became the object of terrorists’ interest.

During the Martian operation, Warface fighters masterfully operate the SED Elite troopers, freeing the hostage terrorists and, on the orders of General Lee Wharton, destroying the laboratory complex where Cedrus was studied.

A new kind of fighters – a new weapon.

However, fighting on another planet proved the effectiveness of Sedrium technologies and, apparently, seriously made the general think about the regular use of SED in Warface operations.

Recruit in the squad

As a playable class, SED inherits both the strengths and weaknesses of its PVE version.

Durable body is not “one-shot” even the most powerful rifles

The SED player can still be killed with conventional weapons, but his armor is much stronger. In addition, the heavy body is characterized by increased durability: even the most powerful sniper rifles cannot knock a robot down.

However, the cyborg moves almost twice as slow as normal players – even the distance of movement in the “slide” is significantly reduced. While this is slightly offset by the fact that the SED can climb high obstacles unaided, keep in mind that Warface is a very dynamic shooter where sprint speed is of great importance.

In addition, SED players are extremely vulnerable to melee attacks and headshots.

SED machine guns do not need to be reloaded. Just don’t let the barrel overheat.

The standard “human” arsenal is also inaccessible to them: robots can use only special weapons, such as a hand grenade launcher and exclusive machine guns. Both are very effective at close and medium range, but useless against snipers.

The future of Warface is in the hands of SED.

In total, the new class is more in demand as a tank: slow, “thick”, with almost unlimited ammunition, but not too accurate.

However, the advent of playable SEDs was good news for Warface engineers. Their value in the squad has increased significantly, because the medic cannot heal an allied robot with his first aid kit, and engineering equipment is required to restore the SED’s heavy armor.
