Instagram offers the ability to save a draft of posts and reels so users can find them later. Apparently, many Instagram users use the reel feature, however after saving them as a draft, they are no longer able to find them.

Where are my Reels drafts on Instagram?

Many Instagram users, especially those approaching the use of the save as draft function for the first time, ask themselves ” Where is my Instagram reel saved”?

Don’t worry if you have no idea where your draft rolls have gone.

Here’s how to retrieve a draft reel on Instagram for iPhone and Android.

  1. Go to the Instagram app and tap your profile picture in the bottom right corner.
  2. On your profile screen, tap the  Reels tabin the center. Note that the Reels section only appears when you share a reel or save it as a draft for the first time.
  3. Tap on ”  Drafts“.
  4. The “Reels drafts” screen will show all the reels you have saved as drafts.

NOTE : If you sign out or uninstall the Instagram app, your drafts will be deleted forever.

How to delete Reels draft on Instagram

If you often record reels on Instagram, you may end up with a lot of drafts. It’s best to get rid of all unnecessary drafts and keep the drafts of the reels you’re creating organized.

To delete draft reels on Instagram,

  1. Switch to “ Reels drafts” by following the previous steps.
  2. Tap “ Select” in the upper right corner and select all the drafts you want to delete forever.
  3. Now tap on the “ Discard” button at the bottom of the screen.

That’s all. All chosen drafts will be permanently removed.

Note  : The Instagram app doesn’t show any confirmation popup after tapping Delete. So make sure you delete your Instagram Reels drafts carefully.

How to post Reel Saved Drafts on Instagram

To publish a draft reel at any time, simply go to the Drafts folder  and tap on the specific reel you wish to publish.

Make any final changes if needed, like adding a caption, setting a cover image, tagging people, etc.

You can also edit the reel to add filters, stickers, music and text to your reel.

Then tap the ”  Share ” button below to post your video reel.

How to Edit Reels Drafts on Instagram

It’s a good idea to preview or draft your reel before sharing it on Instagram.

Surprisingly, it’s not possible to watch the draft of your reel on the share page.

Don’t worry  ! Just tap the “ Edit ” option in the top right corner to preview your draft reels.

To edit reels saved in draft on Instagram , tap the same “ Edit ” button on the Share screen to enter edit mode.

Here you can use the drawing tool, add a voiceover, add stickers, and add text with different fonts and effects.

You can even adjust the volume of the audio from the camera or the pre-selected audio track. It is also possible to delete the original audio and add new music from Instagram.

How to save the draft of Instagram Reels on your mobile phone

Have a Reel saved in draft that you want to publish on another platform instead of Instagram?

In that case, you need to manually download the draft of your Instagram Reel to your iPhone or Android smartphone.

To save a draft Reel on Instagram to your gallery, tap the “ Edit ” option on the Share screen.

Then tap the download button (down arrow icon) to save the reel for offline viewing or direct sharing.

It’s worth noting that any Reels that use external audio from Instagram’s music library will be saved with no music in the gallery.

However, Reels with camera audio recorded by your microphone will keep the original sound.
