Our dear brother,
A Muslim must act very sensitively in such matters. Especially today, some people who are weak in faith insult the sacred things, most of the time it is not because of their lack of faith, but because they are weak in faith.
Communicating is painful for people; When people deviate from the right path, when they violate Allah’s commands and rebel against Him, it hits the person who preaches the message right to the core. Apostasy cripples him, and the moments when he becomes helpless and tied in the name of conveying the message infuriates him and makes him suffer. The Quran addresses our Prophet (PBUH):
“You will almost kill yourself because they do not believe.” (Shuara, 26/3)
By saying this, it depicts the suffering that the Messenger of Allah suffered in the name of conveying the message and the state of mind resulting from this suffering. Essentially, every preacher has and should have this state of mind, depending on the nature and condition of his suffering.
Apostasy means turning away from religion. Accordingly , an apostate is a person who denies all the sacred things he previously believed in . And in a way, this person betrayed Muslims. He who betrays once can betray always. That’s why, according to some, an apostate has no right to life. However, according to the systematized by fiqh scholars, whatever issue caused the apostate to apostatize, that issue will first be explained and explained to him down to the smallest detail. He/she will be monitored for a certain period of time and efforts will be made to persuade him/her on the issues he/she is stuck on. When all these are of no use and it becomes clear that the person is a tumor or a boil within Islam, he will be treated accordingly. (Bukhari, Diyat, 6; Müslim, Kasâme, 25; Serahsî, Mebsut, 10/98; Kâsânî, Bedîü’s-Sanaî, VII/134)
However, no believer can remain indifferent in the face of someone else’s apostasy. Because Islam’s understanding of generosity prevents this. Perhaps every believer who hears about the incident will feel sad and anguished in the face of such an apostasy, depending on his level of consciousness. But the suffering of the preacher is deeper than anyone else. Because the guidance of people is the purpose of its existence.
Here is Khalid b. The spiritual state of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) in the face of an event that happened to Walid (ra). Hz. Khalid rushes to evaluate the principles of religion regarding apostasy and carries out an execution. When this news reached the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), he became very sad and raised his hands and said:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in you from what Khalid did.” (Bukhari, Maghazi, 58; Ibn Hisham, Sira, IV/72)
He seeks refuge in God Almighty.
This sensitivity of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was equally reflected in those around him. For example, to someone returning from Yemen, Hz. Omar (ra) asks if something serious has happened. The person who came says that nothing serious and important happened, only one of them has apostatized. Hz. Omar (ra) stood up with excitement and asked, “What did you do to him?” he asks. When the man said, “We killed him!” , Hz. Omar (ra) sighed, just like the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), and addressed the man, “Shouldn’t you have imprisoned him somewhere and kept him waiting for a while?” says. Then he raises his hands and prays to his Lord:
“Oh my God, I swear I was not there when they did this. And I swear again, when I heard about it, I was not pleased with what they did.” (Muvatta, Akdiye, 58.)
Every Muslim is responsible for doing his part . A person’s position in society imposes certain responsibilities on him; Every Muslim is responsible according to his position. We can look at this issue with a hadith:
“When you see something wrong, correct it with your hand, or if you cannot, with your tongue; If you cannot afford that, hate it wholeheartedly.” (Muslim, Iman 78; Abu Davut, Salat, 232)
Not everyone can interpret this hadith in their own way in every situation. For example, if we see something wrong on the road, we try to correct it with our hands and we beat it, and if that man also becomes a plaintiff, then we will be punished too. So how should we understand the meaning of this hadith?
“To fix it manually” is the duty of the people in charge, that is, the state and the police; It is the duty of scholars to “correct with language” ; It is the duty of others to “hate in their hearts” .
Accordingly, it is the duty of the state to help the situation of an Islamic state through war. It is the state that will decide this. However, if the state decides and orders us to join the war, then it will be our duty to comply. If Islamic states have a responsibility in this regard, the administrators are responsible for it.
