State of play is Sony’s regularly scheduled live streaming show, which the platform owner has pledged to make a recurring event. The show will return this week on February 25, with a focus on upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 software.

What games will be shown or announced during the game state?
According to Sony, we can expect 10 PS5 and PS4 games to show during the broadcast, consisting of “new updates and deep dives” as well as new game announcements. In terms of first-party titles, we’re expecting new looks at Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. We expect to see some indies too – think Stray, Jett: The Far Shore and possibly Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Higher-budget third-party games might include Resident Evil Village or Deathloop, but that’s hard to predict.
As for the announcements of new games, we’re less sure, but it would be very welcome if Naughty Dog showed its multiplayer game The Last of Us, wouldn’t it? Fortunately, we don’t have to wait long.

Sony said the State of Play presentation will last around 30 minutes.
