- Train at the Desolate Temple with Hanbei the Immortal . This NPC will help you test and refine all of the combat options that Sekiro has at its disposal. If you’re having trouble getting around or killing normal enemies, head back to the Desolate Temple to train with Hanbei and hone your combat skills.
- Explore all previously visited areas thoroughly . You may have missed a key item, such as new shinobi tools. You may also have missed an entrance to a new area, but the paths connecting the must-visit areas to complete the game are usually fairly obvious.
- Upgrade your character, and their items . If the “wall” you’ve come up against is a boss, and you’re having a hard time killing it, one way to make sure your combat ability isn’t hampered by low stats or a limited moveset is to accumulate skill experience, or money. Killing lesser enemies repeatedly in an area you’re comfortable with is useful for gaining experience and money to buy new skills and items from merchants that can make all the difference in a particularly tough fight.
- Kill all the minibosses . This tip is complementary to several of the previous ones. Keep in mind that a vast majority of minibosses give us key items such as prayer beads that improve Sekiro’s maximum vitality and posture. They are also a good way to measure our skill against the final boss of the area; keep in mind that these mid-bosses are always going to be weaker than the final enemies. If you are having trouble killing a miniboss, it is time to rethink your strategy, and/or improve Sekiro.
