The new game from the creators of Greedfall turned out to be a good salt-like about robots in the scenery of the French Revolution. Steelrising is noticeably lighter than most of its predecessors in the genre, but still quite fun. Unfortunately, the adventures in the burning Paris of the end of the 18th century are sometimes interrupted by various bugs, and the smoothness of the video sequence during the battles is not ideal due to mediocre optimization.
We will analyze the graphics settings in detail in the next article. And in this we will talk about solving common technical problems with the Steelrising game.
What kind of computer is needed for Steelrising (system requirements)
We studied independent tests of the game and came to the conclusion that the official system requirements are close to the truth. However, they are only rated for 1080p (1920×1080) resolution. Therefore, we have added recommendations for playing in 2K (2560×1440) and 4K (3840×2160), based on the tests we studied.
The game can efficiently use up to 12 processor threads. Therefore, processors not weaker than Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 of the last couple of generations are recommended. As for the graphics card, for a stable 60 FPS at maximum settings, even at 1080p, an adapter of the GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 5600 XT level is required. More details below.
Official minimum system requirements (1080p @ 30 FPS, low preset):
- Operating system:Windows 10 (64-bit only!).
- Processor:Intel Core i7-3770 / Ryzen 5 1400.
- Video Card:NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
- RAM:8 gigabytes.
Official recommended system requirements (1080p @ 60 FPS, high preset):
- Operating system:Windows 10 x64.
- Processor:Intel Core i7-8700 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X.
- Video Card:NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super / RTX 3060 Ti.
- RAM:16 gigabytes.

Steelrising won’t start on Windows 7/10
The game is not designed to run on Microsoft operating systems older than Windows 10.
If you have Windows 10 , and the game still does not start, then try installing all the latest updates.
Game crashes without error
- Restart your computer.
- If this does not help, then check the integrity of the game files in Steam:
- start Steam;
- go to the “Library”section ;
- right- click on the name of the game ( Steelrising) in the list on the left and open the properties;
- in the “Local files”tab, click “Verify integrity of game files” ;
- wait for the process to complete.
Steelrising crashes with error 0x0c000142 / 0x0c000005
Run Windows System File Checker. To do this, press the keyboard shortcut Windows + R , and then in the window that opens, type “sfc /scannow” (without quotes). After the check is complete, restart your computer.

Reinstall or update NVIDIA drivers. It is advisable to do a clean install to reset unsuccessful settings.
“Not enough memory” error in Steelrising
Your PC is running out of RAM. The best solution is to expand the amount of RAM to at least 8 gigabytes. Increasing the swap file will most likely NOT help. Also, be sure to close your browser before launching any game. Especially if it has a large number of open tabs.
The resolution does not change / the game crawls out of the screen
This error can occur if screen scaling is enabled in Windows. You can compensate for this in the following way:
- Find the exefile in the game folder.
- Go to properties and go to the “Compatibility”tab .
- Click the Change High DPI Settingsbutton .
- In the “Override scaling mode…”option , select “Application” .
Steelrising slows down / lags / optimization problems / graphical artifacts
Check if your PC meets the system requirements
See See the “Which computer you need for Steelrising” chapter above .
Update your video card drivers
Visit the graphics card manufacturer’s website:
- NVIDIA GeForce :The site will select the appropriate drivers for you. Just click Search and then Download Now . After the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
- AMD Radeon :Scroll down to Search for your product and select your graphics card under Graphics . Click the Submit button . On the page that opens, click LMB on your version of Windows and click “Download” . Once the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
Important: Be sure to restart your computer after updating your drivers.

Sound problems in Steelrising
Launch Sound Troubleshooter by right -clicking on the volume icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. Follow the instructions of the program.
Game freezes / DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error / black screen
Perhaps the problem is overheating of the video card. Check if the fans of her cooling system are blocked by adjacent wires. If everything is in order with this, then try resetting the overclocking: go to the MSI Afterburner application and click the Reset button (if such a program is not installed, then the video card most likely did not overclock).
