NVIDIA recently announced the company’s most important news for the coming months and years. These include new RTX 40 -series graphics cards , DLSS technology, and a new modding tool that automatically remasters games. RTX Remix is a free feature that adds new modding features to NVIDIA Omniverse software . It allows you to create remaster mods for a wide variety of classic games (not yet listed) using the DirectX 8 and 9 APIs, which are free.
What is RTX Remix?
RTX Remix, an in-game tool, allows gamers to capture in-game scenes that can then be used with the RTX Remix tool, which can detect textures, geometry, lighting, and camera positions, allowing artificial intelligence, NVIDIA ray tracing and DLSS 3 technologies rescale textures, smooth them, create higher-quality materials, and add real-time ray-traced lighting.
Within a few weeks, RTX Remix (which will be offered for free ) will allow modders to export their creations to other development tools, rendering engines such as Adobe Substance 3D Painter, Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, SideFX Houdini or Unreal Engine , or graphics programs like Adobe Photoshop or GIMP.
Valve ‘s nearly 15-year-old puzzle game Portal will be the first game to receive a free RTX Remix mod in November, giving players a new, free way to experience Portal. NVIDIA will develop the mod itself.
« Built on NVIDIA RTX Remix and enhanced by the GeForce RTX 40 series, Portal with RTX reimagines classic gaming graphics with full ray tracing and a new art direction that evokes the original »

It is always positive that large companies like NVIDIA offer free tools to do this type of project, something that AMD knows very well and has been doing better on its graphics cards than Graphzilla in recent times…
