I announced it a few months ago on Instagram news and they’re here.
Instagram launches a new tab on our profile. They are called Instagram GUIDES and they come to share recommendations and advice more easily.
Initially, Instagram enabled the Guides feature on health and wellness accounts to provide resources for people struggling with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
But of course, they are accessible to all types of accounts, so here I explain EVERYTHING you need to know about Instagram guides.
In my Instagram account I have a Reel video and an IGTV video where I talk more about the Instagram Guides.

⇨ What are Instagram Guides
Instagram guides are a new way of creating and consuming content by grouping various posts according to the theme you decide.
If you use Twitter, they will remind you of the Moments function where you can include your posts within the same theme.
Instagram guides are a collection of posts
Within the guides you can share places, products and publications , both your own and those of other accounts.
Guides can also be shared to your stories as a post to alert your followers. In addition, they can be sent by private message by clicking on the airplane icon.

⇨ Examples of Instagram Guides
Do you already know how to make Instagram guides but don’t know how to apply them to your business? Here are some examples:
- Professional Accounts : Guide your most engaged posts, give older posts a new lease of life, or tell a story.
- Clothing brands: select the product guides and add your products by category to each guide. Summer collection, accessories, t-shirts, pants, clothes with the color of the year…
- Physical businesses: choose the place guides and select the images of other users in your store.
- Influencers: choose your best photos advertising brands to offer as a sample to brands interested in your services.
- Gastronomy: guides with vegan recipes, desserts, Italian or Japanese food, are some ideas if your account is dedicated to restaurants and you are a fooder .
- Content Creator – Group your posts by category for quick access to old content.
- Beauty and aesthetics: choose a place guide if you have customers who have tagged your business or a publication guide where you can group by customer reviews, before and after, or services you offer.
- Hotels and restaurants: create a guide with the photos that your clients have shared in the guide by places. But also with photos of the city to encourage them to come not only to your place but also through the surroundings.
- Tourist companies: create place-type guides to add guides to essential places to visit, where to go with children, where to go with animals, where to eat cheap, romantic getaways, exclusive places…
Whatever your business, the guides serve to group publications, whether their own or from other accounts, so it is a great opportunity.
Think about how to group your content so your followers don’t get lost in your feed.
Also, you can create guides recommending posts from other accounts . You can leave it fixed or change it every week as if they were weekly recommendations.
There are many ideas, all that your creativity and imagination allow. If you keep running out of ideas, ask me in comments.
