What Are Branches of Biology

Squad, do any of you like Biology? Did you know that it turns out that Biology has a very broad scope,  you know ! So wide is the scope of this science, making biology is divided into various kinds of branches which are classified based on the object of study of each of these branches of science. Want to know what the heck the branches of the biological sciences, let’s refer to the article below!

  1. Genetics

In this branch of biology, you will learn about genes, genetic material (DNA and RNA) , and the inheritance of traits from parent to offspring and gene crossing . Never not the heck you are wondering why the same skin color with skin color could be your mother? Hmm , by studying this knowledge, you can find the answer,  you know .

  1. Cytology

In cytology, you can study  the building blocks of all living things . Is that? Yup ! It’s a cell . Starting from the structure and organelles of cells, cell division, interactions between cells, cell life cycle, to cell death are all discussed in this science. How, exciting right ?

  1. Histology

Histology is the study of tissue in living things, such as epithelium tissue, binding tissue, supporting tissue, nerve tissue, and many more. Well , for those of you who want to enter the medical department, this science is very useful to learn , you know, Squad.

  1. Anatomy

Apart from histology, anatomy is also important to study in medicine. In this science, you can learn about the inner body structure of living things . Squad, if you pay attention to the structure of your tongue, surely you will see the fine bumps on the surface of your tongue which are called papillae. Then, what is the function of the papilla? What is the actual structure of our tongue? Well , all of that will be thoroughly discussed in this science.

  1. Morphology

Contrary to anatomy, in morphology you will learn about the external body structure of living things . You are curious not anyway why there is a cat in the feet pads are colored pink ? or what the heck is causing beak and feet of birds have different shapes? Calm down Squad, Morphology can answer all your curiosity, really .

  1. Physiology

In Physiology, you will learn about body functions both in anatomy and Squad morphology . Have you heard of physiotherapy? Physiotherapy is also part of physiology,  you know ! Hey , does anyone know what physiotherapy is for?

  1. Ecology

In this science, you will learn about the interactions that occur between living things and their environment as well as interactions between fellow living things on earth , you know, Squad. The picture below is a form of mutually beneficial interaction between sea anemones and clown fish.

  1. Taxonomy

In the science of Taxonomy, you will learn about the classification or classification of living things . This classification is not done carelessly , you know , but is based on a certain hierarchy or level.

He was the first to introduce the seven hierarchies, you know, Squad. Do you still remember the order of the seven hierarchies?

  1. Evolution

Hearing the word evolution, do you remember the father of the theory of evolution, Charles Darwin ? Apparently, evolution is included in the branch of biology too,  you know . Certainly, this knowledge is one of the most interesting materials to study because it discusses changes in living things from generation to generation .

  1. Microbiology

Microbiology is the branch of biology that studies microorganisms, such as bacteria, protozoa, fungi, microscopic algae, and archaea . In studying this science, you will use a microscope because the object being observed is very small. Hey , has anyone ever used a microscope?

  1. Zoology

If in social science you learn about human behavior, then in this branch of biology you can learn about animal classification and behavior , you know .

Did you know that newborn baby turtles can find their own way back to the sea without the help of their parents? You can find the answer in this science , Squad. How, interesting right?

  1. Botany

Botany is a branch of biology that studies plants including their types, structures, distribution and classification . This knowledge is very useful in the world of agriculture, you know, because we can find out the characteristics of various types of plants.

  1. Virology

What do you think when you hear the word virus? Maybe many of you think about dangerous diseases caused by viruses, huh. One branch of biology that discusses viruses including their structure, reproduction, and role is virology.

  1. Bacteriology

It turns out that not all bacteria are pathogenic (detrimental to their host) , you know,  Squad. Bacteria can also be beneficial for human life, one of which is in terms of fermentation. One branch of biology that specifically studies bacteria is bacteriology. In this science, you can learn about structure, reproduction, and the role of these bacteria .

  1. Mycology

Squad, of course you’ve seen mushrooms on expired food, some mushrooms that grow on trees, there are even mushrooms that you can eat, right ? Apparently, these mushrooms come from different types,  you know . In the branch of biology, you can learn about various types of fungi include the structure, reproduction, and the role , ya .

  1. Ornithology

This branch of biology specifically studies birds .  In ornithology, you not only learn about the classification of bird species, but you can also find out the behavior of these birds. Who here in his house raises birds?

  1. Entomology

Did you know that insects are the most populous and diverse organisms on earth? This diversity is what makes insects an interesting object to discuss , you know, Squad. In the branch of biology, there is a special science that studies insects , namely entomology. Here, you can find out about the types, classifications, behavior, and even the distribution of all insects that live on earth.

  1. Mammology

Meanwhile, mammology studies about mammals on earth. This knowledge is very interesting for you to learn, you know, because it can increase your knowledge of all types, classifications, behavior, and even the distribution of these mammals.

After you read this article, so now you can know right when the biological sciences discuss all living things on earth ranging from microscopic organisms to the largest organisms on earth. Oh yes, as technology develops, of course these branches will continue to grow.
