The game does not have a choice of difficulty, so you can not go in cycles in the settings. I’ll add from myself right away – the decisions that you make on the side of Gollum or Smeagol directly affect the attitude of other characters, the fate of some NPCs and the ending of the game.
Chapter 1
Once you’ve taken control of Gollum, follow the only path behind the bird from the opening cutscene. Soon the first target will appear on the screen. Keep moving in the same direction until you see a yellow dot – this is the target marker. Once you reach a small ledge, use the on-screen prompt and press Space to get across to the other side.
Go through a narrow cave and find a ravine. Jump over the chasm, keep going forward until you reach another one. Hold Shift this time to run and make a long jump. Jump again to reach the high platform. Then jump to the yellow/brown ledges on the walls. As soon as you grab onto such a ledge, press W and “Space” to climb up. Then climb to the right side. When you get to the edge, hold D and press Space to jump towards the next ledge.
Walk right and press E to grab the ledge under your feet. Make another long jump to jump over the gap. Move to the right until you reach solid ground. Pull yourself up and climb up the vines on the walls. Look to the right to find another wall to climb. Jump to the wall and climb higher. Keep going forward until you have to make another long jump. Climb the wall ahead and move to the right.
When you get to the end, jump up and keep climbing the wall. Move to the left to get onto solid ground. Soon you will come across a wall that is partially covered with vines. Climb until you run out of vines, hold W and jump higher to other vines to continue climbing. Repeat the action twice to get to the top. Walk to the edge and press the E key to grab the ledge. Jump down by pressing the E key again, turn around and move towards the tree to trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene, look to the left and climb the wall to a wide ledge. You will be scrambling to the right without any support under your feet, causing Golum to use up stamina. If it ends, he won’t be able to hold on. Get to the end of the ledge and jump up to grab the vines from above. When you get to the cave, a dialogue will start. Examine various objects inside the cave: for example, a drawing in the middle of a puddle. When tired, follow through the hole in the wall, to the right of the entrance. Press CTRL to crouch and crawl forward.
Hunt down the spy
Climb the wall and move to the right to find another wall. Run up the wall with a run. Then you will need to run along the side wall to get to the other side of the pit. White paint indicates walls that you need to run along or up. Jump to the ledge, follow the bird marker and look for another sprint wall.
Run along this wall and grab the ledge. Jump up and grab the ledge from above. Move to the right to get onto solid ground. There will be another, horizontal sprint wall. Hold the run key and follow the direction of this wall. Drive away the crow and look to the right to find a vertical sprint wall. Climb up it and look for another wall on your right hand. Climb the vines to the very top and find another vine. Press the F key to perform a jump in the opposite direction from the wall.
Once at the top, climb up the vines and grab the ledge on the right. Jump up and see two orcs. Crouch down and use the grass as cover. Move to the right, jump over the abyss with a run. Go down one level and see other orcs. To dodge them, jump down and run forward. Jump over to the other side and watch the cut-scene. Move to the edge of the cliff and grab the ledge. Go down and follow to the right. Climb up.

When you regain control of Gollum hiding among the grass, you will have to follow the orcs. Especially do not worry, the main thing is not to get up. You can crouch on CTRL and crawl. They will not turn in your direction, because in this position Gollum does not make a sound. In the end, the orcs will reach the gate, but they will not follow the same path. Instead, jump onto the wall ledge on the right. Climb to the right, climb higher on other ledges and crawl up along the ropes of the wall. Cross over to the other side, climb the other wall and vines to the right side, and then start going down. Make sure the orcs have passed by and drop down to the ground. Cross over to the other side and hide in the grass. The task will end when the orcs stop at the archway.
Sneak up on a lone orc from behind and hold the Q key. Just hold, not just press. Eventually, the orc will lose consciousness. Another orc will be on the other side of the bridge. The desired stone is marked with a marker – to the left of the entrance to the bridge. Take it, hold RMB, aim and throw it at the lamp with fire. Watch the cut-scene.
Smeagol or Gollum?
You have to make the first decision that will affect the storyline of the game and the ending. Throughout the passage you will witness the conflict between Gollum and Smeagol. This is the main aspect of the game. You will have to choose between the decisions of Gollum and Smeagol, which will affect the interaction with different characters and will have serious consequences in the future. And it will also affect the behavior of the main character.
To convince one or the other, you have to give the right arguments. In some cases, one argument is sufficient, in others, several.
Choice for Gollum
If you choose Gollum, you will have to convince Smeagol that you must kill the bug. Here are the two correct options:

Choice for Sméagol
After choosing Sméagol, you will have to convince Gollum not to kill the bug.

After the cut-scene, you will learn for the healing. You need to find any food and eat it to restore health. Objects available for interaction are slightly highlighted. You can also use Gollum’s Sense by holding R. When you pick up food, hold X to use it. The screen has all the clues!
Press R. The world will turn black and white, but all important objects will be marked with other, more colorful colors. The first thing you’ll see are wavy orange lines leading the way. There will also be Nazgûl marked in dark red. You can’t run away from them, they will catch you anyway.
Chapter 2
Feel free to interact with fellow inmates. During the conversation, you can answer with Gollum or Smeagol. Pick up the token and go to bed by the window. The next day, move to the yellow marker and ride the funicular to the mine. Keep walking towards the marker, listen to Fragile Man and choose either Sméagol or Gollum’s answers. When you reach the massive gate, you will see a staircase on the left. Climb up it and a cut-scene will start.
Go down the stairs and stand next to the beast so that he can see you. Then run into the pen and climb up the wall. There is a lever at the top. Pull it and the beast will be trapped. This action will trigger a cutscene during which two more beasts will appear. This time you need to lure them into a distant corral. There are wooden barriers on the way to it. Gollum can safely jump over them, and the animals will demolish them. If necessary, jump onto the stone ledges – the animals will not get there. After entering the pen, climb the wall again, carefully cross the beams to the lever and pull it.
Find 8 tokens
Use the funicular to return to the mines. Follow the marker and return to the head of the mines. After the conversation, move along with the Fragile Man, who will go deep into the mine. You need to find 8 tokens, and all of them are marked with markers.
Go to the ledge and move to the right. Beware of rising hot bubbles. Jump to the platform on the right and then drop down to the one below. Jump to the platform with the torch and go to the edge. Press the E key to hang on the edge and jump in the opposite direction (F). Go down and pick up the first token. A worm is lying nearby – this is food and a first-aid kit at the same time.
Go down the stairs and go to the marker. Pick up the second token, go to the opposite side and look for a wooden elevator. Pull the lever. Once at the top, go down a bit and follow through the tunnel until you come across a lava barrier on the floor. Go down and pick up the third token.
Note the pillar in front of the miner’s corpse. Some parts of it can be caught. Jump on a pole, climb sideways, climb higher, jump over to another pole, and so on. There are also two large rocks hanging at the top, and you can grab onto them. Once on the platform with a ladder, climb up and turn right. Run up the wall and cross to the other side to find the Bat Wing collectible. In general, we will have a separate guide for collectibles!
Once in a spacious location, consisting of several levels, find the wall on the right and run up it. Get to where the marker is pointing, then duck down to the nearest platform where two orcs are standing. Pick up the worms and the fourth token. Long jump to the right to find the fifth token. Jump down and cross the bridge. Activate Gollum’s Sense to highlight the next item on the other side of the bridge. Pick up the sixth token.
Return to the opposite side of the bridge and use the stairs. Jump to the right side to return to the two orcs. Go back to the wall where you can climb up. So do it, jump to the left and go up the stairs. At the top point are the worm and the seventh token. Go down the stairs and follow the marker. Go to the next ladder and go down to the last token.
Go to the miner. After the report, return to the cell. On the way to your cell, look into another open one to pick up a collectible – an old metal spoon. Go to bed. The next day, enter the funicular and return to the head of the mine. Use the Fragile Man’s directions and, when prompted, pick up the red stone.
Blow up barrels
Wait for the Fragile Man to pull the lever, then crawl into the tunnel and pick up the worm on the other side. Jump to the climbable wall and slide down. Move through another tunnel and jump onto another wall. Climb down it by performing a jump in the opposite direction (F). After jumping to the ground, crawl through the third tunnel and find the barrel. Interact with her and quickly go back the same way! Enter the second tunnel that the Fragile Man will open. This time the path to the barrel will be much shorter and easier. After blowing it up, just go back. Be careful with heat bubbles.
Join Fragile Man and follow to the third tunnel. Crawl through the tunnel until you come across an abyss. Jump over to the other side and go through the second tunnel. You will reach a scaffolding with a barrel located on the left. Jump to the barrel, cause a detonation and go back. Report to the head of the mine.
When you return to the cell, a cruel orc will block the way – you need to make a decision. You can give bread, beg or threaten. If you choose to threaten, be aware that he will hit Gollum and the action will move forward a few days.
Follow the Fragile Man.
Follow the man who leads Gollum to the sewers. When he opens the gate on the right, jump into the water. Get out on land and you will see two animals. Turn left, jumping over the fence. Keep running away from the animals, jumping over the fences, until you reach the abyss. Hang on the ledge and jump over to the other side.
The animals will stop chasing, but another couple is hiding behind the nearest fence. Run past them and follow to the very end, while a whole flock of monsters is chasing you. There will be an elevation in the corner. Climb it, climb the wall with ropes, continue climbing and follow the marker. You need to enter the pipe and crawl through the tunnel that was shown during the cutscene. You will be on top of a large area, a cut-scene will start.
Climb down the walls on the left until you reach a small ledge you can stand on. Look to the right to find a platform. Move to the far end of the platform and jump down after hanging on the edge. Use the adjacent wall to continue your descent and you will soon be on the ground.
Using Gollum’s intuition, you can see the red outlines of orcs. You will also see orange lines – the main path. Hide in the shadows – for example, behind boxes. While you are in complete darkness, even if the enemy looks in your direction, they still will not see Gollum. Use these safe areas to get closer to your target without being seen. Crawl through the hole to the right of the orc, go around two more. Pick up the stones in the back room. You need to climb the wall located to the left of the orc who is guarding it. Pre-throw a stone at a burning lantern opposite the enemy, and he will go to check it. Climb up the ledges and to the right, onto the platform that was shown during the cutscene.
There will be even more enemies in the new part of the cave. Drop down to the solid ground and go right to the edge. Grab the edge and crawl right past the enemies. at the bottom, you can go to the wall in the depths of the location and climb the wooden structure – the bridge supports. Climb these structures to the left and wait. One of the orcs is standing directly above you, and the other one is walking left and right and lighting up the area with a lantern. When the enemy with the lantern starts moving to the right, get to the surface, crouch while holding CTRL, and crawl into the elevator. Interact with the wooden box by pressing Q to hide inside.
After moving to a new location, you will have to jump a lot and often. Activate Gollum’s intuition and you will see several orange lines suggesting you go down. Do this to get into the body of water. Get out on land and climb the two stairs. Don’t worry about the orc looking up the stairs – some areas are darkened.
Go left, crawl through the hole in the wall and turn off the flashlight. You will create a shadow that will help you hide from the orc looking up the stairs. Go around it and pick up the stone. Reach the wall ahead, near which there is a long shadow. Use it to avoid detection. Move forward, to the right and go down the stairs. Along the way, you can pick up a worm.
You will find yourself at the abyss. Look to the left to find a ledge. Jump and grab onto it. An orc is patrolling the bridge, there are shadows on the right – that’s where you need to go! Once in another room with a second orc and a lantern, pick up a stone and throw it at the lantern. Go behind the orc who is busy with the lantern.
Hang on the ledge, follow all the way to the left and pull yourself up. Go down, move to the left and grab the ledge. Jump down to the wooden platform. Jump over to another wooden platform and activate Gollum’s intuition to reveal orange lines indicating a wall to climb.
Do so, and then jump in the opposite direction (F), to the other wall. Repeat the process one more time and move up the last wall. You will find a wooden bridge. Cross the bridge and jump to the wooden crossbar. Swing and jump to the other side when Gollum’s legs are up. Look at the wall on the left. Run up and jump onto the ledges.
As soon as you grab the ledge, jump up and go to the right. Jump back (F) to grab the bar. Continue moving, grab the wall and jump in the opposite direction. Turn left and jump over to the other side. You will see a moving wheel with many poles to grab onto. Grab one and wait. When the wheel spins and you are on the other side, jump forward.
Once on the other side, go to the wooden platform and jump to the ledge on the wall. Move left and up. Drop down to the platform below, use the spinning wheel and wait for it to get closer to the wall on the other side. Jump to this wall and pull yourself up. Climb onto the ledge and climb up. Turn around and jump to the crossbar, and from it to the other side.
Climb up to the platform next to the giant wooden gear and jump onto the one ahead. Walk forward, turn to the wall on the left and climb it. On the platform, turn towards the moving wheel and grab onto it. Jump off the wheel when you’re on the other side, turn around and climb up the sloped roof. Walk to the right and grab the ledge to pull yourself up.
If you get lost or confused at any point, just look in the direction of the marker. Move forward to see a cut-scene with the correct location. The next segment will be more difficult, but below we have described everything in detail. First go down, pull the lever and see where the platform goes.
Steal the plans
Jump across the platforms in the direction of the marker. Remember to use your intuition and navigate along the orange lines. Eventually, you will end up outside the room. An orc looks through the window. Climb into the room and use the ladder against the right wall. There will be two more orcs in the next room.
Sneak into the left corner of the room and throw a stone at the lantern on the other side at the moment when the orc patrolling the room moves away. Sneak behind the second orc in the passage and head to the left. Climb onto the ledge, move to the right and up. Keep climbing until you reach the next room with orcs and blueprints.
There are some papers and blueprints here, and the ones you need are located at the back. When you find the drawings, it remains to leave this place. Use your intuition, sneak past the orcs at the bridge and leave this place on the funicular. From the library with drawings, you need to get out through the window above the table.
Tokens
And again you have to look for tokens! The first one is nearby. You don’t even have to jump, climb walls or crawl. Just follow the marker. Go deep into the mine, go down the stairs and climb the other two. Go to the marker and pick up the second token. On the other side there will be a corpse with the last token. Climb the stairs and cross the bridge to get to it. Watch the cut-scene.
Take red stone
Pick up the red stone and crawl through the tunnel. Climb up, go through another tunnel, look to the left and jump down to the platform. The next part is wall running. Run across to the other side, and then run up the second, this time vertical wall. Jump in the opposite direction by pressing F.
Get to the top right side of the wall and jump to the right. Look up and grab the ledge. Crawl all the way to the left, jump back and get to the top. Jump to the right and look for a large wall to climb on. Get to the top and jump in the opposite direction. You will find two eggs on the left and another platform ahead. Go to the platform and keep going up.
Eventually, you will reach a room with two orcs. Throw a rock at the lantern and sneak past the enemies. Look for a barrel in the next room. Place the red stone and jump into one of the metal bowls under the ceiling.
In the end, you have to choose between Smeagol and Gollum. You can choose to side with Gollum and blame the Fragile Man, or side with Smeagol and point to the Violent Orc.
Choice for Sméagol
If you choose Sméagol, you will have to convince Gollum:
Dead snitch. This choice will be in the event that you make a mistake earlier.
Chapter 3
Follow the marker to find an elevated platform. Jump and get to the platform, climb the wall and grab the bar. Turn around, jump and pull the lever. Go right, climb the wall and jump in the opposite direction.
Turn around and see a wide iron bar. Run up and jump on him. Line up with the ledge ahead and jump onto it. Look to the right and go to the lever. Climb up one level to the raised platform and run up the wall. Walk to the right and you will see a red stream splitting the area in half. Follow forward and pull the lever.
Stand on a wooden plank/bridge and jump over a few rungs to a wall that you can climb on. Pull up and pull the fourth lever. Go down the yellow marker and pull the last lever. Return to the cell. If the Fragile Man was blackmailed at the end of the second chapter, there will be bread in the cell.

Follow the orc to the Candlemaker’s tower. When he leaves, go up the stairs. The door is closed, but there is a running wall next to it. Climb up it and enter the room. Activate Gollum’s intuition to highlight some items. You can steal the flask from the table and later exchange it for food. Look through the keyhole of the highlighted door.
Enter and speak with the Candlemaker to trigger a cutscene. In the end, the person he will ask a question, and you can choose from three options. If you choose the knife, you can kill the head of the mine (orc). If you decide to do this, you will have to convince Smeagol.

How to create a bird
Follow the orc to the breeding room and talk to the Candlemaker. Your task is to make the chick hatch. But first, pick up the collectible feather lying behind the cages in front of the mechs.
When you’re ready, take the egg, choose the color you want, and put the egg into the bowl. Depending on the chosen color, a white, brown or black chick will be born. Also, depending on the color, you must put a certain amount of firewood and click on the furs. If you select a brown chick, place three sticks and click on the furs four times. Black – 2 branches and click on the furs three times. White – four branches and double click on the furs.
Chapter 4
Follow Grashneg to the animal pen. This time you will be giving the command to the companion. Press the X key to enter companion mode and select the circle closest to Grashneg (near the gate). Then move it to the left along the fence. After that, you need to move Grashneg to the circle in front of the beasts. As soon as the animals see him, he will run back to the fence, getting out of the way of the animals. And the animals will move into the corral. It remains to activate the lower lever.
Talk to the Candlemaker and follow him to his office. When he asks a question, you can lie or tell the truth. I chose a lie, but I did not find any consequences, at least momentary ones. Talk to the bird to trigger a cutscene.
Enter companion mode and point to the pot. The bird will refuse to follow the order. The candlemaker will ask you to catch her. Move down, climb the wall and jump towards the bird. Soon the Candlemaker will ask you to return to the office, take bread and feed the chick. Throw the bread and talk to the bird. Order her to knock down the pot, and then bring the figurine. Take the figurine and talk to the Candlemaker.
Return the bird to the cage in the office. If you wish, you can steal another flask. Interact with the cage to see a cutscene. The daughter of the Candlemaker will enter the office. Get out through the window and jump along the beams to the balcony. Sneak past the guards and get closer to the woman. When you get to the room where the Candlemaker’s daughter is standing, you need to hide in any cover marked with a yellow marker. A cut-scene will start.
After that, you need to follow the woman to the elevator. Get out through the window or move straight through this office. Use the shadow under the walls of the corridor to avoid the three enemies standing still. When the woman with the orcs enters the elevator and it starts moving down, jump onto the roof. Keep following the Candlemaker’s daughter until a cut-scene starts, in which she communicates with the Beast Master.
Cross the wooden plank and climb the walls. Climb up three times, follow to the left and jump in the opposite direction. Jump to the crossbar, and from it to the other side. Jump to the left and grab the ledge. Go left, climb up and do a side jump to the left side. Jump back. Jump up twice and look around. Line up with any of the ledges behind and jump back (F). Climb up the walls and jump back in the opposite direction. You will see a wall that you can run up. Climb up it and grab the ledge.
Climb to the right and jump up. Move all the way to the right and climb the wall. Sneak up on the orc and strangle him. Wait for your daughter to arrive and sneak past (jump over to the other side). After the cut-scene, return to the cell and talk to Grashneg. End the day.
