After the theft of the Sacred Fire by Prometheus, life on earth became happier because the Titan Prometheus taught people various arts and gave them all kinds of knowledge through fire. Zeus severely punished not only the thief but also the human race. For this purpose, he ordered Hephaestus to create with earth and water a human model of a woman to whom he gave life, a sweet voice and at the same time a beauty similar to the immortal goddesses.
Pandora
Then I present her to the gods of Olympus, who, upon seeing her beauty, each one gave her a divine gift, hence the origin of her name “Pandora” Πανδώρα, (Παν + δωρα) (Bread + gifts). When she was ready, Zeus gave her a box containing her wedding gifts and ordered Prometheus to take her to, his foolish brother Epimetheus, offering her as his wife. But Prometheus being intelligent suspected the trap and refused to take it to his brother.
But one day Prometheus following the instructions of Zeus, showing no disobedience, offered it to his brother Epimetheus, who was dazzled by Pandora’s beauty and accepted it despite his brother’s persistent advice never to accept the gifts sent by Zeus. ; but Epimetheus did not hear him.

Pandora charmed him with her beauty and in the end he married her. But it wasn’t long before she realized Epimetheus’ disabilities, turning her life into great suffering. So far no one knew what was in the box and no one dared to discover it. One day Pandora, curious to see Zeus’s gifts, lifted the heavy lid of the box, and a multitude of misfortunes unknown to people until then, came out of it; pain, suffering, disease and death. Myth
The Myth of Pandora in its central axis is preserved in several versions, that of Hesiod , Aesop and Aeschylus ; as it is also found in all eastern peoples. The similarity is very clear in a variation of it, probably the oldest of all, according to which Zeus filled with real gifts in the box, but gave the order never to open it. As strange as it was, Pandora opened it with the result that we all know.
