The future of the gaming industry is in mobile devices

Public interest in mobile games is growing at an astronomical rate, with more than 1.36 billion users according to current data . It’s no secret that the popularity of mobile games is growing – and the more games, the more users come with them. Technologies such as Apple Metal are already fueling advances, and a number of major console games now have mobile equivalents that can be played from anywhere.

Analysts and mobile gamers alike seem to understand that mobile gaming is a huge opportunity , so what about the rest of the gaming community? Why are so many console and PC gamers still rolling their eyes at mobile games and acting like every mobile game is just Candy Crush with a new skin? Now is the time to treat mobile games like most of the video game industry , and here’s why.

Mobile games are real video games

As a mobile gamer, you are pretty used to other gamers rolling their eyes at the mention of mobile games. There is a general consensus that all real video games must be played on a console or PC. Mobile games can’t be real games because phones don’t have the same processors or graphics cards – or hey, the screen is too small, it can’t be good!

Why?

When you talk to console gamers of popular games, they tend to pay attention to such big names like Monster Hunter or of Call of Duty . These must be real games. You know, complex games with detailed mechanics that develop over time. Big worlds and intense approaches to combat. A game where you can brag about your victory. These games may not be available for mobile devices – but they are already there.

Rangers of Oblivion is the mobile equivalent of Monster Hunter with some very creative monsters (hippos) and an incredibly well-written collection of side quests smashed around the world. Call of Duty Mobile gives you the opportunity to play this classic game against people who play with controllers (the only real tool for gamers!) And still wipe the floor with them on the touchscreen.

Do you play Call of Duty on iPad?

Yes I. It’s the same game. Most of the cards. The same tasks and mechanics – and more!

Big names, big investments

Call of Duty isn’t the only big name in games that is moving into the mobile space. PC gamers are all too knowledgeable about Riot Games and their growing interest in mobile gaming. They’ve already brought Team Battle Tactics and Legends of Runeterra , and they’re now ready for a global incremental release from League of Legends: Wild Rift , a game that will bring the LoL MOBA experience to mobile.

This is consistent with the of Tencent , the company that now owns the Riot Games, and their desire for mobile gaming with such popular games like PUBG Mobile and Arena has of Valor , a popular international game in the genre of MOBA, available for iOS and Android. The fact that the Arena of Valor composer list includes Hans Zimmer , a talented composer known for his work on the soundtracks for Interstellar and Pirates of the Caribbean , testifies to Tencent’s interest in investing in high-value games. For reference,Zimmer’s net worth is estimated at $ 200 million .

NetEase , a powerful company known for its role in distributing games like World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm, has partnered with Blizzard to deliver incredibly immersive mobile games including Rangers of Oblivion and Identity V , an asymmetric horror game very similar to Dead By Daylight. as well as LifeAfter , a post-apocalyptic survival game that brings together players from all over the world to hunt, build houses and wage war with an ever-growing collection of zombies and dangerous animals. LifeAfter is now available on PC, showing us a future in which mobile gaming seamlessly blends with other platforms.

There must be a rule among us, not an exception

According to the latest mobile gaming news, among us, the world has conquered the world. This unusual murder and intrigue game has attracted a lot of attention and has encouraged many new users to try mobile games. While this is a great development for mobile games, it shouldn’t be considered an exception among us for mobile games.

While Among Us is a mobile game that has garnered a lot of attention, it is not a sure testament to the power of mobile gaming. In the future, we can hope to see such enthusiasm for some of the larger, more powerful mobile games. We need to pay less attention to simplified mobile games and pay more attention to more complex games and what they have to offer. Touchscreens offer gamers great control options with a little practice – especially for the generation now growing up with touchscreens instead of buttons.

All eyes on riot

When we look to the future of mobile gaming, it seems like no one has more power than Riot Games to change the face of mobile gaming forever. With 115 million players a month in League of Legends , no one will be able to draw attention to mobile gaming in the coming months. The currently released gameplay showcases a near-perfect translation of this game from PC to mobile. As the game will be released globally, it will be interesting to see how many users start playing Wild Rift and if that encourages players to try some of the other major mobile games available. For now, all we can do is wait and see.
