There are many more weapons in The Evil Within 2 than you might initially think, and each of them can be improved even further! Hidden in different corners of the game world, these cannons will give Sebastian a chance to destroy opponents, survive and save Lily. Some of the weapons are divided into categories, while updating one pistol, you automatically install upgrades on all other pistols. In this article, we’ll tell you where to find each weapon in The Evil Within 2 .
Pistol Locations in The Evil Within 2
The game has four weapons of this category. They each use the same cartridges.
Semi-automatic pistol
Available: second chapter.
Semi-automatic pistol
This is your standard, everyday pistol. We will take it as a basis in order to compare all the other pistols in the game. This will be your first firearm and you will receive it automatically at the end of Chapter 2.
Laser Pointer Pistol
Available: third chapter.
Laser Pointer Pistol
When you use this pistol, a laser pointer will appear, which is used for aiming instead of the usual crosshair. Damage at close range is lower than a regular semi-automatic pistol, but it deals more damage with better accuracy when firing at long distances. You will be able to find this weapon during the passage of the third chapter in the parking lot at the Union auto repair shop.
Silent pistol (with silencer)
Available: the seventh chapter.
This is the weakest pistol in terms of damage, but it is much more useful than the rest. You can use it to destroy lonely targets. Pre-lure one enemy, making sure that he sees you, but does not detect you (which would lead to the fact that others would know about your location), and then shoot, acting silently.
Silent pistol (with silencer)
To obtain such a firearm, you will need to complete Sykes’ side quest related to restoring power to the “Network” during the passage of the seventh chapter. You can start this quest by rescuing Mobius operative Julian Sykes, located near the northern hideout in the business district of Union (the location where the theater is located).
Explosive pistol
Available: only for those who pre-ordered.
Explosive pistol
This bonus weapon has slightly better damage than the standard pistol and fires three rounds. You can get it if you have pre-ordered the game with The Last Chance Pack.
The Evil Within 2 Shotgun Locations
During the passage of the game, you can find three different shotguns at once, and they all use the same ammunition.
Trim
Available: the third and sixth chapters.
This weapon has a much higher power than the pistol. Unfortunately, when fired, the shells fly apart significantly, which means that to get the maximum effect, you need to approach the opponents almost closely. You can find this weapon in several places.

You have three chances to get this shotgun:
- The first way to find it is through the Networks arsenal, which you will find yourself in during the passage of the third chapter and the side quest “Unusual Signal”.
- You can also find a shotgun inside the building on the territory of the trucking company, a little further than the auto repair shop. You will get there after you track Lily’s voice in that very third chapter.
- Your last chance to pick up the sawn-off shotgun is the Seti Pantry in Chapter 6.
Long-barreled shotgun
Available: the seventh chapter.
The long-barreled shotgun is capable of more accurate shooting at medium ranges. This is precisely its main advantage, while the disadvantage can be called lower damage compared to the sawn-off shotgun. You can find him in the business district of Union, at the location with the theater.

You need to unlock the vault near the shelter at the post office (where you appear at the very beginning of the level). To get the key to the barn, you need to find an armored personnel carrier in the alley in the opposite part of the location, behind which, at a wooden fence, lies the corpse of a girl. There will also be a fragment of memories – search the dead body and get the key. It is not far from the Devil’s personal bar and the Abode Hotel.
Double-barreled shotgun
Available: chapter 13.
This shotgun shoots two rounds at once, which means that it deals huge damage at close range. The downside is that it needs to be reloaded after every shot. To get it, you will need to complete the side quests in the “Out there” and “Back in touch” sections, which Julian Sykes gives out during the passage of the seventh chapter.
Double-barreled shotgun
If you have already completed Julian’s quests before (sleeping him, etc.), you will have to return to him during the passage of the thirteenth chapter, in the business district. When you meet him, he will send you to the experimental wing of the “Network”. You will definitely need to ask him about everything. After completing the mission, you can find a double-barreled shotgun lying in the nearest weapon crate.

To find the “Guardian” crossbow, during the passage of the third chapter, you will have to go from O’Neill’s shelter along the road to the left and at the crossroads near the armored vehicle to find the weapon you need.

The Evil Within 2 Sniper Rifle Location
There is only one sniper rifle in the game, but in order to use it, you will have to find two parts and repair them at the workbench or through the “Handicraft” in the inventory.
Available: chapter 3, 11-13 or 15.
The sniper rifle delivers powerful shots at great distances with high accuracy. You can get this weapon after you start the third chapter.
Sniper rifle
There are three ways to do this:
- In the third chapter, a faulty sniper rifle can be found lying on the roof of a house west of O’Neill’s hideout. Cross the road and look for the stairs at the house on the side of the church. The second part can be found in one of the garages in the northern part of the residential area at the same location.
- You will get another chance to pick up the sniper rifle during chapters 11-13. You need to get to the roof of John’s coffee restaurant and pick up the weapon.
- The last chance to get a rifle falls in the fifteenth chapter. You will find her in the ruined city.
Assault Rifle Locations in The Evil Within 2
There is only one automatic rifle in the game.
Available: chapter 13.
Assault rifle
This is the only fully automatic weapon in The Evil Within 2, and can be used to quickly destroy enemies. However, ammunition runs out very quickly. You can get these firearms on the Net during the chapter thirteenth storyline.
Flamethrower location in The Evil Within 2
You will be able to assemble this weapon from three parts.
Available: chapter 11.
Flamethrower
This unique weapon allows you to destroy enemies with fire. The downside is that Sebastian takes out opponents more slowly, but the ammo runs out very quickly.
To get the flamethrower, you need to defeat the boss in the eleventh chapter. Once this is done, you will get your hands on a faulty flamethrower in the Forbidden Laboratory “Network”. Then you will need to defeat two more enemies with flamethrowers in the business district (it seems there are at least three of them) and pick up the dropped kegs. When you have a faulty flamethrower and two such barrels, then through the “Handicraft” in your inventory you will receive a full-fledged flamethrower.
