1) Agneepath scheme was passed by the Union Cabinet on 14th May 2022, Saturday.
2) This game changing project was announced by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on 14 June 2022 (Tuesday).
3) This scheme is specially for the recruitment of youth in the Indian Armed Forces.
4) Under this scheme recruitment will be done for Navy, Air Force and Indian Army.
5) Around 46,000 posts will be recruited under this scheme.
6) The scheme is applicable only to citizens between the age group of 17.5 – 21 years.
7) In the first year, candidates will be paid 30,000 per month as salary.

1) Soldiers recruited under Agneepath scheme will be called “Agniveer”.
2) Selected candidates will also be given 6 months training in total service tenure of 4 years.
3) The objective of this scheme is to provide more young faces to the Indian Armed Forces.
4) This scheme will also help in meeting the demands of the job to some extent.
5) Agniveer will be deprived of facilities like pension and other benefits.
6) Other allowances like ration, traveling allowance, risk and hard work allowance will also be given.
7) Every year 46,000 candidates will be recruited under this scheme.
8) Agniveers will be provided with a certificate of training.

4) The in-hand salary of Agniveers will be 21,000 in the first year.
5) The salary of Agniveers can be increased up to 40,000 per month till the end of service.
6) Agnivars will be given a life insurance cover of 48 lakhs for four years.
7) On death, a total of Rs 1 crore will be given to the family.
8) 30% of their total salary will be deducted for service fund package.
9) An equal amount deducted from the salary will be paid by the Government along with interest to form the service fund package.
