Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah

Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah  (Arabic: صباح الأحمد الجابر الصباح Sabāh al-Ahmad al-Yābir as-Sabāh; n. 1929) is the current Emir of Kuwait. He began his reign 29 of January of 2006 , after being recognized as head of state by the National Assembly of Kuwait, to the abdication of the Emir Abdullah Saad el-el-el-Sabah Salim occur.

Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Yaber Al-Sabah is the fourth son of the Emir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yaber Al-Sabah and Munira Al-Ayar.

Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Yaber Al-Sabah held various public positions before accessing the Kuwaiti throne; Among other positions, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs from January 28, 1963 to July 13, 2003 and Prime Minister from July 13, 2003 to January 29, 2006.

Sheikh Sabah is a widower, his wife and second aunt, Sheikh Fatuwah bint Salman Al-Sabah, died in the course of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2, 1990. She was the cousin of Father Sabah, Ahmad Al- Yaber Al-Sabah. The marriage had four children: Sheik Nasser and Sheik Hamed are their surviving children; as well as Sheikh Salwa and Sheikh Ahmed, now deceased.
