Resident Evil 4 Remake sends gamers to a creepy village full of parasite-infested residents. The fourth part has much more battles than the previous three games in the series. And for this reason, the developers have prepared a large and varied arsenal of weapons for players. Below we tell you how to find all types of weapons in the game.
About all weapons in brief
Each weapon can be upgraded to level 5 in four main stats: power, reload speed, magazine capacity, and rate of fire. Once you have fully upgraded all weapon stats (to the maximum, level 5), you can buy an exclusive upgrade. Each weapon has a different upgrade. It can be an increase in damage, rate of fire, or critical hit chance. You can bypass the limitation and buy a ticket for an exclusive upgrade from a merchant for spinels.
Some weapons in the game you will receive by default, others you will buy from a merchant, and others are hidden in certain places in the game world.
In the case of upgrading knives (combat, scout and primeval), only two characteristics are increased – power (damage) and durability. Each knife has an attack speed, but it does not improve. Grenades and the rocket launcher cannot be upgraded.
How to get the SG-O9 R pistol
Exclusive upgrade: 80,000 pesetas, increases critical hit chance (headshot) by 5 times.
The SG-O9 R pistol is the first weapon you’ll use in Resident Evil 4 Remake. It’s the pistol Leon uses to enter the village. While it’s not the most powerful weapon in the game, it’s definitely useful for the first few hours, especially if you get used to shooting enemies in the head or legs and then running up to finish them off in close combat.
How to get the Punisher pistol
Exclusive upgrade: ability to pierce up to five enemies with one shot (if they are standing in a row), 70,000 pesetas.
The Punisher is the second pistol you can get in the game. It can be bought from the merchant for spinels. The cost of the weapon is 5 spinels, but the Punisher is definitely better than the SG-O9. The pistol has a penetrating power, thanks to which one bullet can hit several enemies standing in one row.
How to get the Red9 pistol
Exclusive upgrade: 1.5x power, 100,000 pesetas. The most powerful pistol in the game.
The most powerful pistol in the game, the Red9 can be found in the very center of the lake, in a wrecked boat during Chapter 4. Look among the wreckage for a large chest containing the weapon.
How to get the Matilda pistol
Exclusive upgrade: Doubles magazine capacity, 70,000 pesetas.
The Matilda is a burst pistol that is great for taking out multiple enemies. It has decent damage and a high rate of fire. However, due to the latter, it is not the best option for those trying to conserve ammo. You can buy the Matilda from the merchant for 10 spinels in Chapter 8, when you find yourself in the castle.
How to get the Blacktail pistol
Exclusive upgrade: 1.5 times more power, 100,000 pesetas. Unlike Red9, it has less power, but surpasses it in other characteristics.
The final pistol in the game is the Blacktail, which can be purchased from a merchant for 24,000 pesetas in Chapter 7. It is essentially an upgraded version of the basic SG-O9 pistol you receive at the start of the game.
How to get W-870
Exclusive upgrade: 2x power, 80,000 pesetas.
This is the first shotgun you can get in Resident Evil 4 Remake. You can buy it from a merchant in Chapter 2 or find it inside a house while playing Chapter 1. The house you need is located in the village square, where you fight off a large group of enemies, including a madman with a chainsaw. Go through the square and look into the house on the left until you reach a tall tower (the only one in the square). Go up to the second floor and you will see a glass case on the wall, in which the shotgun is hidden.
This is a very powerful close-range weapon that is great for taking out multiple enemies at once.
How to get a police shotgun
Exclusive upgrade: 1.5 times more power, 80,000 pesetas.
The name of this weapon speaks for itself. The Police Rifle is a shotgun that will be a great help in destroying numerous enemy groups. It is more powerful than the W-870 and can be bought from the merchant for 28,000 pesetas in Chapter 6.

How to get the LE-5 submachine gun
Exclusive upgrade: ability to hit up to 5 targets with one shot, 80,000 pesetas.
Probably the best submachine gun you can get in the game. LE-5 – Another one can be found in Chapter 13 after solving the puzzle at the electrical terminal by the freezer. The solution is listed in the walkthrough on our website.
How to get the Chicago Broom submachine gun
Exclusive upgrade: Never run out of ammo, 10,000 pesetas.
The Chicago Broom is a fast-firing, gangster-style submachine gun from the 1930s that can be unlocked in the DLC store after completing the game’s main story on Professional difficulty with an A rank or higher.
How to get the SR M1903 sniper rifle

In Chapter 2, right after Leon returns the gear, you will come across the first merchant’s shop and will be able to buy the SR M1903 bolt-action rifle for 12,000 pesetas.
The SR M1903 is very accurate and deals a lot of damage, making it ideal for taking out enemies from a long distance. Especially since you get a free scope with the rifle.
How to get the Stingray semi-automatic rifle
Exclusive upgrade: 2x rate of fire, 60,000 pesetas.
Another rifle, the Stingray, is a semi-automatic weapon that deals high damage, so once you can buy the Stingray in Chapter 7 for 30,000 pesetas, it’s worth swapping out the SR M1903 for it.
How to get a crossbow
Exclusive upgrade: Doubles magazine capacity, 60,000 pesetas.
The only weapon that can be used for stealth shooting at a distance. The crossbow may not be the most impressive or powerful weapon in the game, but for those who like to act stealthily, it will be literally irreplaceable. Mines can also be attached to bolts, making it an explosive weapon. However, bolts with mines are destroyed after use and cannot be reused.
This weapon can be purchased from the merchant for 10,000 pesetas in Chapter 2.
How to get the CQBR Assault Rifle
Exclusive upgrade: 1.5 times more power, 100,000 pesetas.

Another powerful magnum, the Bombarda can be purchased from the DLC store after completing the story on the Professional difficulty level with rank A or higher.

Exclusive improvement: none.
The rocket launcher is, despite everything, a completely chaotic weapon that deals a huge amount of damage over a large area. It takes up a lot of inventory space, and can instantly kill a boss (or force him to move on to the next stage if the battle consists of several stages). It can only be used once per playthrough (I don’t count the infinite rocket launcher).
You can buy this weapon from the merchant for 80,000 pesetas in Chapter 4.
