Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to Beat All Bosses

During the Resident Evil 4 Remake, you will encounter several bosses at once – much more powerful enemies than those you fight on a regular basis. They are much more dangerous than the same madman with a chainsaw, a thug with a pig mask and a hammer, locals with a parasite instead of a head. To defeat them, you will have to use the best weapons and the right strategy, which will allow you to save ammunition and “heals”. Especially at higher difficulty levels. You need to carefully study the behavior pattern of each enemy, their attacks and weaknesses. Below we briefly talk about all the bosses of the game.

Del Lago

Del Lago is the first boss in Resident Evil 4 Remake, and defeating him is quite simple. At the beginning of the fight, he will be dragging a boat with Leon in it. Attack him several times, throwing endless harpoons. Try to predict which direction the monster will move in order to make a preemptive strike. Sometimes he will go underwater, after which he will appear in a random direction. As soon as he starts approaching the boat, do not let him crash into it by throwing a harpoon into his huge mouth. After that, he will drag the boat again. Repeat the process until the enemy is completely destroyed.

El Gigante

To defeat El Gigante in Resident Evil 4 Remake, shoot the giant with everything you have, and try to aim for the head. Eventually, a parasite will appear on his back. The parasite is his weak spot, and from the moment it appears, you must shoot only at it. Once you have dealt enough damage to the parasite, El Gigante will be stunned. A corresponding prompt will appear. Run up to the enemy, press the indicated button / key to climb on his back and attack the parasite in melee combat, causing additional damage. Soon after, El Gigante will come to his senses. Repeat this process.

There are two small huts in the arena where the fight takes place. Look for useful resources inside them that will help you in the fight. Don’t stay inside the huts for too long; if you hide, El Gigante will destroy it. If you save the gray dog from the trap on the side of the village elder’s house (after visiting the house itself), he will appear after the first stunning of El Gigante and will distract the boss, allowing you to freely shoot the enemy and the parasite on his back.

Peasant women with a chainsaw

Two enemies with a chainsaw that can cause some problems for Leon. To defeat them, try to move around the location so as not to get between them under any circumstances. When necessary, reflect attacks with a knife. Before taking the handle, also ask Ashley to hide in the yellow locker. If there are grenades, equip them immediately: grab the handle and after the cutscene, throw grenades at the feet of both enemies. If you need space, run outside the hut.

Bitores Mendez

The fight with Bitores Mendez in Resident Evil 4 Remake consists of two stages. In the first, immediately go up the stairs to the upper floor, as it is much safer here than staying below. Bitores will not be able to climb up after you. However, the enemy has long tentacles, and he will be able to attack you with them. From the second floor, you will see a weak spot on the enemy’s back. Continue to shoot at the eye on Bitores’s back, remembering to dodge oncoming attacks. Eventually, the upper part of the body will separate from the lower one, and thus the second stage of the fight begins.

During the second phase, Mendez will throw burning parts of the building at you and move along the rafters. He moves quickly, so be careful. You need to run away from the burning debris. Right after this, you can shoot him several times. At some point, he will pick up two red barrels with an explosive substance. Take advantage of the opportunity to shoot the barrels so that they explode and cause additional damage to Mendez.

Garrador

Defeating Garrador in Resident Evil 4 Remake is not difficult, although it requires more tactical action than with El Gigante. The monster is protected on all sides, except for a single vulnerable spot on its back. Garrador is blind, but has excellent hearing. You should take advantage of this. Touch the chains hanging from the ceiling to create noise and distract Garrador. Do not run under any circumstances! If you can distract the monster and end up behind it, do not waste ammunition – get closer and attack with a knife! For killing Garrador with only a knife, you will receive an achievement.

Every time Garrador attacks, try to quickly dodge and attack the parasite on his back. If you don’t want to suffer, use firearms. If you see that the parasite has crawled out, attack it, thereby causing additional damage. Repeat the process until the enemy is completely destroyed.

El Gigante in armor (castle)

Defeating the armored El Gigante in Resident Evil 4 Remake is much easier than in the first fight at the quarry. The thing is, he stands in one place – on the castle walls opposite Leon, and throws huge debris. You don’t have to fight him in direct combat, and you don’t need to shoot from your weapon. As soon as you get to the tower designated by the target marker, you can break the counterweight and raise the platform with the cannon. As soon as the cannon is on top, get to it and shoot the armored El Gigante once. He will die instantly.

Two Garradors

Defeating the Garrador twins in Resident Evil 4 Remake is much more difficult than it was in the confrontation against the same single opponent in the castle dungeon. The basic principle remains the same – both Garradors are blind, protected from all sides, have good hearing and the only vulnerable spot is on their back. The main difference from the previous fight is that you are confronted by two opponents at once, not to mention the usual cultists.

When the fight starts, I recommend killing all the regular cultists first. Also, the Garradors are crazy enough to smash everything around them – attract their attention so that when they move, they hit regular mobs. When the regular cultists are out of your way, you can try to split up the Garradors. From here on out, it all comes down to sneaking up on the Garrador from behind and attacking them from behind. This is not the best place to earn the achievement for killing a Garrador with just a knife. Use your best and most powerful weapon here. Shoot anyone in the back when you get the chance, and continue to dodge and parry oncoming attacks. Keep an eye on where each Garrador is, especially if you can split them up.

Verdugo

To defeat Verdugo in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you will have to freeze the enemy, since he simply has no other weak points. At the beginning of the battle, lure him closer to the red pipes through which liquid freezing gas flows, and then activate them using wall panels. If you are lucky, the enemy will be frozen, and you will be able to attack him with a normal weapon. Shoot at the boss as much as possible until he thaws out and runs away. Go to the next place, where there is a panel with cooling gas.

Dodge Verdugo’s attacks until the monster comes out of the ventilation and chases you again. Continue to lure the enemy to the pipes and activate the panels, and after freezing – shoot the enemy. Repeat the actions about 3-4 times, and the monster will be defeated.

Two El Gigantes

There were already two Garradors, but, believe it or not, defeating two El Gigantes, regular and armored, is much easier. First, you need to use the tactics from the first battle with El Gigante at the quarry, although there are some new nuances. Let’s start with the fact that the battle can be safely divided into two stages. First, you need to kill El Gigante without protective armor, and you will have to act the same way as in the first battle. At the same time, dodge the attacks of the armored enemy. You can lure him to the center, stun him with a shot at the parasite on his back, then activate the control panel and throw the enemy into the lava.

Once you kill the regular one, wait: after a few seconds, Luis will leave the battle, but for a reason. Don’t even waste ammo on the armored El Gigante. Just dodge his attacks and wait for Luis to return. Lure the boss closer to him so that Serra drops an explosive on his back. Shoot this explosive to crack the armor, revealing the parasite on his back. Attack the parasite when El Gigante is standing on the hatch in the center. Once you’ve done enough damage, the enemy will be immobilized. Instead of approaching him, activate the control panel on the side to throw him into the lava.

Krauser

During the first battle against Krauser, you will be able to test your melee skills – both attacks, dodging and parrying. Parry enemy attacks in a timely manner (don’t just block, parry), don’t ignore the pop-up tips on the screen that ask you to dodge enemy attacks. Pick the right moments to counterattack, but don’t be greedy – one or two blows will be enough to avoid a counterattack. The battle will not be long, just be patient and try to act without mistakes. In addition, there are several green herbs in the location that can be used for healing.

Ramon Salazar

To defeat Ramon Salazar, who mutates before the fight, you will have to rely mainly on firepower. His main attack involves spraying black goo, and if you come into contact with it or get close, it will explode, causing significant damage to Leon. Do not try to aim at Salazar while he is moving, because it is too difficult to hit him at such moments, and the damage he does is small. As soon as Ramon stops and opens his mouth to spray black goo, you will see a human body. This is the weak spot that you need to shoot with your most powerful weapon. Repeat the action until he is stunned. Run closer and attack in melee combat for a fatal blow.

Mutated Krauser

The fight against the mutated Krauser in Resident Evil 4 Remake will start similar to the previous fight with the major. Once you get through the location, shoot Krauser a few times to lure him out and force him to fight in close combat. Parry and dodge attacks, counterattack, after which the enemy will run away. Climb the stairs to the upper floor and turn the valve to open the passage just below, where the yellow spokes are depicted. Go further.

The underground basement is littered with laser mines, traps, and automated turrets. Move slowly, avoiding Krauser’s sporadic attacks, destroying the turrets, disarming the tripwires and traps. Once on the surface, cross the bridge, using cover between Krauser’s rocket launcher shots. At the end of this area, the enemy will drop several grenades, so take your time going up the stairs.

After the second melee battle, Krauser will mutate and you will find yourself at the bottom. You will have to find a way up, avoiding the boss’s attacks. Climb the stairs to the wooden platform to see a cutscene, followed by the final stage of the battle. Use a powerful weapon to shoot Krauser, continue to dodge his attacks. From time to time, he will raise his right hand to protect himself from shots. Take your time, wait for the moment when he lets down his guard, and continue shooting. This will save you ammo.

Osmund Saddler

Saddler is the final boss of Resident Evil 4 Remake, and this is your longest and most difficult fight yet. The madman transforms into a giant monster with many limbs and appendages. Each joint of his legs has two eyes – these are the ones you need to shoot off first. Once you destroy the second eye, Saddler will be stunned, fall to the ground, and at this point you will see the central eye marked with a double white pointer. Shoot it with your most powerful weapon!

Once Saddler recovers, two more eyes will appear that you need to shoot. There are red barrels in the area – be sure to shoot them to deal extra damage, and then attack both eyes with a firearm. Repeat the action, and when you have dealt enough damage, the enemy will run to the top of the central platform and summon Novistadors – flying insects. While he is busy, try to destroy as many Novistadors as possible. After a while, Saddler will return and continue to attack you.

At this point, Saddler will start spraying black goo, similar to Ramon Salazar. Finish off the remaining Novistadors to focus on Saddler. This time, he will have four eyes on his paws. All of them must be destroyed. Repeat the process, attacking the central eye. Once you have done enough damage, he will move to the platform again, but instead of summoning Novistadors, he will start spraying black goo. Shortly after, he will descend, and the final round will begin.

Continue shooting the eyes on the legs and after stunning him, attack the central weak spot. Eventually, Saddler’s second mutation will begin, turning him into a massive nest of flesh with multiple tentacles. Continue shooting the central orange blister while dodging the tentacles. At some point, Ada will throw a rocket launcher. Shoot the weak spot to trigger a sequence in which Leon finishes off the madman.
