Projectile Defense Enchantment in Minecraft

As you survive in Minecraft, your character will regularly encounter mobs that attack from a distance. For example, the most common of these mobs are skeleton archers, which can attack even in a group. The list, of course, does not end there. Since there are also ghasts and ifrits . But in any case, anyone who fights these mobs has a logical question: how to protect yourself from them?

Sure, you can use a shield or get some powerful armor like diamond /netherite. However, over time, even this will not be enough. Therefore, the only reliable way to protect yourself is to use the “Protection from Projectiles” enchantment. However, these enchantments have their own distinctive features that you should be aware of before you decide to put them on items.

Minecraft Projectile Defense Enchantment: Overview

What does Projectile Defense do in Minecraft?

The key feature of the Projectile Defense enchantment is that it significantly reduces the damage taken by the character from arrows and any other projectiles.

For example, this list includes not only the projectiles of skeleton archers, but also ghasts and ifrits. Moreover, if desired, thanks to the enchantment “Protection from Projectiles” you can reduce the damage received by as much as 90%. However, this will require that all armor had this enchantment of the fourth level.

Characteristics

  • Maximum level . The “Protection from Projectiles” enchantment, like many other types of protective enchantments, has five levels. However, if this is not enough, then we recommend using the mods that are presented below and remove the standard limitation on levels. Or, as a last resort, you can use commands.
  • What items are enchanted in the game? The “Protection from Projectiles” enchantment is intended for all types of armor in the game. That is, you can apply this enchantment to any type of boots, leggings, armor and helmets. This list also includes the turtle helmet.
  • What enchantments are incompatible with? The Projectile Defense enchantment is one of the few enchantments that conflicts with other defensive effects. As such, it cannot be placed on items that have the Defense, Explosion Resistance, or Fireproof enchantment.
  • Chances of getting an enchantment . The enchantment “Protection from projectiles” has a certain chance of falling out in the window of the table for enchantments . And this probability is equal to 10 units. At the same time, if you do not want to waste time and experience, you can use the mod, which is presented below in the corresponding paragraph.

Projectile Defense Enchantment Mods in Minecraft

  • Mod “Tool Leveling+” or “Limitless” . Both of these modifications are designed to remove the limitation on enchantment levels. As a result, items can be enchanted even to hundredth levels. And each of these mods adds its own unique block. The differences between them are that the first project requires netherite ingots as the main resource for enchantments, although this can be changed in a special configuration file.

The second mod requires standard resources – experience and lapis lazuli. At the same time, it also does not change the price for repairing enchanted equipment. And in addition, enchanted items can be re-enchanted with it.

  • Mod “Disenchanting Forge” . With this, you can use a new forge, which will allow you to remove any kind of enchantment from objects and move them inside books. These actions consume the accumulated experience of the character, but in return the objects are not destroyed and remain intact.
  • Mod “Enchanting Plus” . Another extremely useful project, which this time gives the opportunity to choose the desired enchantments. In other words, the mod bypasses the mechanics of the probability of enchantments falling out. For this, the author added his own table for enchantments, where they can be selected. At the same time, enchantments still have a fixed price. Thus, it will be possible to save a lot of experience and time.
  • Mod “Ensorcellation”, “Colds: Enchants” or “Enchanting Fever” . You can install any of them, since all of them are created only to diversify the types of enchantments in the vanilla version of Minecraft. The only differences are the options and the number of added enchantments.
  • Mod “Custom Enchantments” . Well, as an option, we suggest installing a mod that makes changes to the standard enchantments. The key feature of this mod is that it adds enhanced enchantment options for the standard enchantments of the game. For this, another new block was also added, where you can create these enchantments. And to help, the author also took care of a book with enchantments, which presents all the existing recipes for new enhanced enchantments.

How to get enchantment through admin panel?

You can get the “Protection from Projectiles” enchantment not only in the usual gameplay way or with the help of mods, but also thanks to the administrator mode with the corresponding commands. The only difference is that the enchantment will already be imposed on a certain item, but if desired, the desired item can be specified in advance.

The main thing before you decide to use the admin panel is to make sure that cheats are allowed in the world. Otherwise, nothing will work. As a last resort, if you can’t open the admin panel, just create a new world. Because the instructions don’t change and still look like this:

  • First, open the developer mode (admin panel) using the “T” key (on the English layout), then in the window that opens, scroll down to where the command line for using commands is located.
  • In the command line, you can enter the command “/give @p netherite_chestplate{Enchantments:[{id:projectile_protection,lvl:4}]}” and immediately receive enchanted netherite armor for the fifth level of “Protection from Projectiles”.
  • But you can also write another command – “/give @p enchanted_book{Enchantments:[{id:projectile_protection,lvl:4}]}”. In this case, the character will receive a book with a similar enchantment of the same level, which can be used at your own discretion.
  • In this case, all commands should be written without quotes. And they can change not only the item (by changing the item ID), but also the level in the corresponding field to any other.

If the commands still cannot be used for unknown reasons, then we recommend using the capabilities of the tool called “Command Block”. The selected command should be written inside it. And then it will activate itself as soon as the command block receives a signal (from the red stone).

Secrets and tips

  • The “Protection from Projectiles” enchantment protects not only from arrows from skeleton archers (all types including winterhorns), ghasts and ifrits, but also from attacks from drowned zombies who use tridents as their main weapon.

Alternatively, you can have several types of armor with different enchantments for protection. But if suddenly, due to the low chance of appearance, you do not want to deal with this matter, then we strongly recommend using mods that simplify this mechanics as much as possible and make it more accessible to each player.
