Baking cakes and cookies at home is an activity that makes many people happy. What’s more beautiful than spoiling those we love with something greedy? With a few simple steps you can also give special attention to your cat.

How to make mouth-watering cat snacks

In principle, you can make cookies for your cat exactly as you do when you decide to cook for your family and friends. Just mix the ingredients in order using a planetary or a mixer, and then form biscuits that you will go to bake until they are golden on the surface.

The main difference lies in the fact that “biscuits” for cats are not sweet, but salty. Instead of sugar or nuts, they contain the ingredients our pets love and can eat, namely cheese, fish or meat.

The advantages of homemade cookies

If you decide to dedicate yourself to preparing snacks for your cat, the first advantage is that you know exactly what they contain. This is not a trivial matter, especially if your cat is suffering from anyallergy . Since they contain no chemical additives, homemade cookies are quite healthy. To prepare them, you don’t need exotic ingredients or special spices, which your pet cannot tolerate anyway. You need simple things like eggs, tuna and cheese , ingredients that you probably already have at home and that you can still find without problems in the nearest supermarket.

Tip:  If your recipe contains dairy products such as butter, cheese or yogurt, we recommend that you choose the lactose-free version. In fact, cats do not tolerate cow’s milk.

You can also use these cookies as a treat to offer when you visit friends and relatives who live with one or more cats, or you can use these snacks as Christmas gift for cat owners .

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.

Mix together the Parmesan, egg and butter with the mixer (or the planetary) to form a uniform mass. Then slowly add the potato starch, continuing to mix to get a nice uniform consistency.

When the dough is ready, form a few long, thin rolls about the size of a little finger. Then cut the rolls of dough into small pieces of the same size, using a knife, and give them the desired shape.

Then spread the snacks still raw on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Make sure there is enough space between the cookies, as the egg will double in size.
