Phrases with Like, Love, Hate, Prefer in English

The verbs like (to love), hate (to hate), love (to love) and prefer (to prefer) are used to express positive or negative feelings, i.e. what you like or dislike. They are called verbs of preference ( verb for preferences , in English) and are usually followed by the gerund (it is formed by adding -ing to the verb) when the meaning is general, and by the infinitive (added to to the basic form of the verb) when it is refer to a particular time or situation. The infinitive is always used with verbs in the conditional such as would like to , would hate to (odierei),would love to ( would love ).
