If you want to assemble different Pals to move around comfortably on land, sea or air in Palworld, pay attention to the requirements that you will have to meet first in your game.
Moving around the vast map of Palworld and exploring it on foot is fun, but it is even more stimulating and comfortable to do so when riding one of the Pals that exist in the game. And yes, there are creatures that can be used as mounts to travel the mountains and grasslands on land , as well as to navigate the water or fly quickly through the skies, saving a lot of time on foot.
If you’ve just started playing, you’re probably wondering how to get on top of Pals . It’s not possible to do so in all of them, and in those that you can, you still have to meet certain specific requirements . That’s why, in this entry of our guide, we’re going to explain it to you so that you don’t miss any details.
How to unlock Pals mounts?
In order to ride the Pals you basically need two things : on the one hand you must have captured a Pal that you can use as a mount thanks to its special technique, and on the other hand you have to make a saddle for that Pal in order to be able to ride it.
To make it easier for you to understand, let’s take Melpaca as an example , one of the first Pals you can find and that can be used as a ground mount (in the attached link you can find their locations). Once you have caught a Melpaca you can take it out of the Sphere, but you will see that there is no way to get on top of it just like that.
This is because you haven’t yet unlocked his particular saddle , an item that the Pal must have in order for you to be able to ride on his back and which you’ll find you need if you open his data sheet from a Pal Box (as noted in the image above).
Well, to create Melpaca’s saddle you need to build a Pal Gear Crafting Table at your base . The recipe for this table is unlocked from the Technology section with 2 technology points, when you have reached at least character level 6. To build you need the following resources:
- Paldium Fragment x10
- Wood x30
- Fabric x2
After creating the mentioned table you also have to unlock the recipe for the Melpaca saddle. This one in particular you will find in the level 7 section of Technology. Note that the saddle recipe can only be purchased when you have already captured at least one Melpaca specimen , otherwise it will appear as unknown with a question mark.
Well, after acquiring the saddle recipe, go to the crafting table and craft it with these resources :
- Leather x3
- Wool x5
- Paldium Fragment x5
Automatically after creating it you will not need to do anything else . Now you can take your Melpaca out of the Sphere and approach it to see an interaction button that allows you to mount it (on PC it is the F key by default).
Once you’re on top of the Pal, you can travel around the world faster , as well as perform some special and powerful attack moves . Of course, everything we’ve explained up to this point applies equally to the rest of the Pal mounts. That is, you’ll always have to capture the Pal and then craft its saddle in order to use it as a mount, so don’t forget that.
