Palworld: How to catch Pals easily and increase your chances

We explain what you need and what method to follow in Palworld to be able to catch the Pals and how to increase the chances of capturing them so that it is much easier to get them.

Pals are the main characters in Palworld , the multiplayer survival game with hundreds of Pokémon -like creatures that we can collect to fight against others or manage our base. For this reason, one of the mechanics that you will spend the most time doing is capturing Pals , something that is more or less similar to what we have seen in the games of the Nintendo RPG saga.

But how do you do this? If you are a newcomer to Palworld and still have doubts, don’t worry, in this entry of our guide we are going to show you the steps to follow to easily capture Pals and a little trick or tip to increase your chances of the Pals not escaping.

How to capture Pals?

In order to capture Pals in Palworld, in addition to knowing where each creature appears in the world (you can find out the locations of the Pals here ), you first need to have a specific item in your inventory: a Pal Ball . This item works in a very similar way to Pokémon’s Poké Balls , since we can point a Ball at a Pal and throw it at it to trap it inside. If we’re lucky, the Pal will be captured, and if we fail, it will be released and we can try again.

Pal Spheres can be crafted almost from the beginning of a game after unlocking their recipe in the Technology tab , spending one technology point after you have raised your character to at least level 2

Each Sphere requires the following materials for its manufacture:

  • Wood x3
  • Stone x3
  • Paldium Fragment x1

Naturally, to craft the Sphere you also need to first build a Primitive Workbench with Wood x2 (its recipe is unlocked at Tech Level 1).

Wood and Stones are easily obtained by searching for them on the ground or by cutting down trees and chopping grey rocks . Paldium Shards are a resource that is usually obtained by chopping blue-coloured rocks , or sometimes you will see them on the ground as well.

Don’t forget that Pal Spheres can also be found randomly in the wild. But, for example, if you capture a Pal Vixy and assign it to a Livestock Pen , it can eventually generate more Pal Spheres at your base. This is a great way to passively farm Pals so you don’t have to invest resources and time into manually crafting them.

How to Increase Your Chances of Catching Pals

Depending on the Pal you want to catch, you will notice that some are much more elusive than others and it is harder to successfully catch them the first time. Remember that every time you point the Pal Sphere at a Pal you will be able to check the success rate of the capture, which can range from 0% to 100%.

Of course, this probability can vary for several reasons . The following must be taken into account:

  • Pal’s health : As in Pokémon, if the Pal is weakened first , its chance of being trapped in the Sphere will increase. So the basic advice before throwing a Sphere is to first damage the Pal as much as you can without weakening it completely.
  • Remember the Elements Table: You can do damage to the Pals with your own weapons or by using a Pal from your team to go out and fight; but don’t forget that there is an Elements Table in this game that is important to know in order to weaken the enemies faster.
  • Unlock better Spheres: As you level up in the game, you will be able to unlock higher quality Pal Spheres crafting recipes with technology points , which will help increase your chances of capturing them.
  • Be careful with the level of your Pals: It is also obvious to mention that if a Pal you want to capture is too far above your level, it will be practically impossible to catch him. So keep that in mind.

Either way, the best trick to increase your capture chances is through Power Statues and Lifmunk Effigies . These types of effigies can be found all over the map as collectibles to pick up. After you have a few beads, you can use them as an offering on a Power Statue (a type of building unlocked with tech points at level 6 and built with 20x Stone and 20x Paldium Shard) to improve your Spheres’ capture rate .

If you want to go in search of Lifmunk’s Effigies, you can check out this interactive map and filter your search for Effigy icons so you’ll know where they all are. There are over 300 to collect.
