Nokia Lumia 625 Review

Nokia has recently released so many Lumia phones that if you want to buy one for you, they are confusing over and over again. In fact, there is a kind of Lumia for every type of user . Well, after having sorted out a lot of things, I got a new Nokia Lumia 625 which I think will satisfy all your needs.

After using this 4G enabled device for the past 2 days, I found that some things are pretty simple in some cases and typical in others. The Nokia Lumia 625 ships with Windows Phone 8 , which can be upgraded to Windows Phone 8 Black . Nokia recently announced at MWC 2014 that Windows Phone 8.1 will be available for all Windows Phone 8 running devices, so you can expect more with this device.

Review Nokia Lumia 625

In India, the phone is priced at around Rs 22, ooo according to the window that many previous reviews of this phone have declared overpriced, however if you can bargain you can get it up to 15k just like me. If you like simple and concentrated typography and Live Tiles like in Windows 8.1 , you will definitely love the phone.

The contents of the box are shown below:

Nokia Lumia 625 – LIKE

Build quality . The build quality of all Nokia Lumia is pretty much the same. These phones have solid build quality, plus the Lumia 625 has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection . The keys and the location of the battery are pretty nice. However, the phone is a bit bulky, but after 3-4 days of use, you will no longer feel this way. The screen size is good for viewing high resolution images if you are comparing an Android device . The device has a memory card slot that can be expanded up to 64GB, so you have enough space to store a lot of data on your phone.

Camera . The phone has an excellent 5MP secondary camera with flash, great performance and lots of filters to work with. If you are addicted to picture snapping, then Windows Phone will not disappoint you. Video recording HD with a resolution of 1080 allows you to get stunning video experience. Autofocus is a common factor right now, but here it helps you take crystal clear photos at 2592 x 1936 resolution . I got the same image from my Nokia Lumia 625 and iPad with Retina Display (4th generation), both have a 5MP camera and the image quality is much better.

The front camera is VGA, but you can enjoy it and it will help you make video calls with ease. Official apps like Nokia Camera , Nokia Smart Cam, and Nokia Panorama are also available for stunning pictures.

Nokia MixRadio . We all love music, whatever it is. Nokia MixRadio is a great music store that is exclusively available to Nokia users and is priced lower than Apple iTunes and almost all types of songs, whether old or new, are easy to find.

While an Android user has to link to third-party music sites to get their favorites, you can get the music to your liking with just a few taps.

Performance . Compared to the previous version of Windows Phone 7.x, the performance of Windows Phone 8 has improved significantly. The Krait dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz delivers a decent gaming experience. The latest update applicable to this phone is the Nokia Lumia Black update , which greatly improves multitasking in this phone.

The speaker sound quality is good, but the earbuds aren’t as good as they could be. I tried Sony Xperia headphones with this phone and they worked much better.

Dolby digital audio filtering is also available, which further enhances the sound of music.

The battery life of the phone is moderate, since all smartphones are not suitable for this. However, if you only use your phone for calling and messaging, the battery can last for almost a day and a half.

Nokia Lumia 625 – DO NOT LOVE

Shop . The store you get with Windows Phone is fine, but not as good as Google Play . The reason for this feeling is that apps are limited in the store. For example, if you’re looking for a call recorder app, you won’t have any results. Since the phone’s SDK does not allow you to record calls, there is no app associated with it, although there are many apps for users using Android . However, in my opinion, the voice recorder should be baked into the phone by the manufacturers.

This was just an example, but there are limited applications, so the Store should be more diverse. A popular game like Subway Surfer isn’t available either.

Explorer . While the phone can support up to 64GB of removable SD card storage, this storage is only for files that the phone can use. If you want to keep some computer documents on your card, they will be deleted when you connect the card to your phone and then back to your computer. There might be a file management tool to display all files on that external storage so they can be shared.

Shared access . Thanks to Bluetooth v4.0 , which has A2DP and low energy technology, you can instantly exchange files. However, you cannot share the video that you have downloaded or saved to external storage, only the video recorder can share with this phone. This limitation should be removed so that users can easily exchange information. We skipped NFC (Near Field Communication) technology for sharing at this price, plus direct WiFi may also be available .

Conclusion

A phone might be fine if you like simplified and expanded text and user interface. The phone has all the options you need, but there are restrictions on these options. While the Android user can customize the rudimentary stuff, Windows Phone restrictions prevent you from doing it. An intelligent voice recognizer needs a fair amount of improvement. The camera is good, the battery and the build quality are the things that will make you love this phone. If you are looking for a crystal clear display, you must buy this phone.
