How to defeat Mezuki
This horse-headed monster attacks with a huge sword, which allows it to reach you from a long distance. At close range, it sometimes tries to grab the hero, and at a long distance, it shoots skulls. The key to victory is to deplete the ki (stamina), highlighted in purple. After this, the enemy will be stunned, and you will have a few seconds to carry out your own attacks.
First, learn his moves by keeping your distance and not thinking about attacking. Spend 2-3 minutes on this until you memorize all the combos so that you know the sequence of attacks and movements. In particular, after a series of three attacks, you can attack his head. For example, you can manage to hit him twice with a spear from a high stance (square, i.e. a light attack), and then run away. Over time, you will feel how far he can reach with his giant sword. Try to stand at the edge of the range to force him to attack, and then jump back to avoid damage. When he finishes the combo, again hit him 1-2 times from a high stance, and then retreat.
Another important point is the charged attacks with red energy. Every time the boss is about to perform such a move, use a counterattack by pressing R2 and “circle” at the same time. Timing is important here, and you need to press the buttons just before the enemy strikes. This move will use up some of your anima, but will cause a lot of damage to the boss. So, this move should be used whenever you see a red glow.
When you see that the boss’s ki is almost depleted, use one of the yokai abilities assigned to the guardian spirit – R2 + “triangle” or R2 + “square”. One of these attacks will be enough to temporarily disable the boss. When this happens, be ready to attack the enemy using the upper stance. To restore ki between attacks, press R1 to use pulse.
The moment of depletion of the boss’s ki is dangerous because you do not see the enemy’s second hidden stamina bar. And if you do not have time to deplete it, then he summons the Yokai Realm, turning into a more aggressive demon. With all the ensuing consequences. In this world, you get slow ki regeneration. Just wait for the boss to use a red attack, and perform a counterattack. When the boss’s ki is depleted in the Yokai Realm, then in most cases you will not even need to destroy the hidden stamina bar. The realm will disappear, and the boss will fall to his knees and be temporarily immobilized.
A very important point is that attacking bosses from behind allows you to inflict increased damage on them! That is why you attack the opponent who has kneeled from behind. Continue to act as usual, using counters in response to red attacks. At certain moments, make single blows from the upper stance.
How to defeat Enenra
Before entering the battle, be sure to use the hot spring located behind the wall on the first floor of the burning building. In addition to healing, this source will temporarily strengthen Hide. In the battle against Enenra, it is enough to use one technique – a heavy strike (triangle) from a high stance using a spear, an axe, and almost any other type of weapon. Constantly run to the left. Continue running around Enenra clockwise. He will attack you, but all strikes will go into the void. As long as you continue to run to the left. By the time his combo is complete (usually 2 to 4 strikes), you will already be behind the enemy and can perform one heavy strike “triangle” from a high stance. Such a strike will give +200% bonus damage. In addition, a high stance implies maximum damage per strike. Multiply this by the bonus from an attack from behind. Incredible! Repeat the tactic throughout the battle.
Avoid the burning explosives that periodically appear on the floor. Continue to act according to the learned tactics: run to the left, wait for a miss and attack 1 time from behind. You can also use the minimal window after the explosion of fire projectiles scattered on the floor or landing on the floor after Enenra’s jump to attack with a normal strike (square). But remember that in this case the pause is minimal, which means your attack is riskier.
Also, wait for the boss to prepare red attacks. Especially when he tries to use his Tornado move. Every time in these situations, press R2 + Circle. The tornado is difficult to dodge or block, so you should counter it with a Yokai Splash instead. This move will also deal increased damage to the enemy’s Ki. After that, if you are using a spear, press Square, Square, Triangle to activate the combo.
After the ki is depleted, the enemy will be somewhat stunned, but be careful, as after a few seconds, it will transform and activate the Yokai Realm. During the transition, it will turn into a tornado. Although your ki regenerates more slowly in the Yokai Realm, it is enough to use the same tactic of moving around the monster.
How to defeat Yatsunokami
You are looking at a slow, snake-like creature with a set of predictable moves. The main attacks that you can easily use are:
1. When the boss drives the two small snakes located on either side of the main head into the ground so that they burst out from under the ground under your feet. The boss is left completely defenseless.
2. Red charged attack where the enemy is running forward. Run to the side, causing Yatsunokami to simply miss.
You can use his lunges by moving towards the boss at a 45 degree angle. He will miss and become defenseless for a while. But remember that Yatsunokami can try to grab you or attack you with a spin attack with his long tail when close.
When the ki is depleted, the enemy will release two snakes that will attack you as separate enemies. Obviously, it is easier to fight against one enemy, so focus on destroying these two snakes first. Even if the boss activates the Yokai World, if one of the snakes is alive, continue to chase it until you kill it. Yatsunokami’s moves are the same in each stage.
Use only one attack with the spear – square, triangle, triangle from the upper stance. This combo has a large damage range and an enlarged hitbox, which makes it easier to hit the boss. When using other weapons, this may be difficult. In the sense that the damage range of the same katana is much lower. In this case, you will need to stick to more powerful strikes on the triangle.
How to beat Imagawa Yoshimoto
This is the first human boss in Nioh 2. Already here you will understand that the fight against such an enemy is much easier due to predictable movements, limited range, the ability to deliver finishing blows and the absence of a phase with the yokai world (in most cases). You can fight Imagawa as if you were a normal enemy. The location is spacious, so you can run clockwise around the enemy or dodge back. When he misses, deliver your blows. To make the fight easier, you can attack once with a heavy blow from the upper stance. Imagawa has a limited supply of life, and he cannot inflict much damage. The only thing you will have to do is run as far as possible in those moments when Imagawa calls on his guardian spirit, who attacks with lightning. And lightning, as you know, slows down your movements.
How to defeat Kamaitachi
This is a very fast, panther-like monster that constantly jumps and climbs trees. On the downside, it has low health and relatively weak attacks. On the way from the first altar on the level to the boss, there is a hot spring. Use it to increase the hero’s strength. During the battle, use the middle or high stance. Using the spear in the middle stance, attack with a combo of three presses of the “triangle”. Always move to the left in relation to the boss, at an angle of 45 degrees. Most of his attacks will go milk.
The boss uses a three-hit combo, the last one being a tail spin. You need to block it, as it’s hard to dodge. Also, be careful, as it can use a red charged attack at close range. Use R2 and circle to counter.
When the enemy climbs the tree, hold the block button. From the tree, he always launches several projectiles, but you can easily block them with minimal loss of ki. The second move from the tree is a flight with a spin towards you. If this move is “red”, then just go left to avoid it. If you do not see red energy, you can easily block the lunge. After this move, you will have time to attack the monster. Always try to attack him from the left. Instead of dodging, it is safe to move left at a 45 degree angle and block different attacks, since they take away minimal ki. Attack from the side each time the enemy combo ends.
How to beat Saito Yoshitatsu
Another human boss who can use all three types of guardian spirits (strength, wild, and ghost). While he is in human form, you only need to use one move – a spear strike from a high stance using “square”. Then you can buy the skill Spear Flourish, which allows you to attack the enemy’s ki by pressing R1. Repeat both moves to reduce the enemy’s ki reserve. So, you need to repeatedly press “square” and R1 from a high stance while using the spear. Thanks to this, you will constantly stun the enemy and drive him into a corner. The only thing he can do to counter is grab. When you see a white smoke appear on his hand, dodge, and then repeat the familiar combo.
Twice during the fight, he will change into a random Guardian Spirit form. If it is an Electric Spirit, you can still use the normal hit and R1 spear combo. If he uses Fire Form, just dodge to make him miss his combo, then hit him 1-2 times and repeat. If he uses Purple Spirit, just run away from Saito until he returns to human form. About a minute. Then repeat. This tactic works against most human bosses.
How to defeat Tatarimokke
You will have to fight a huge owl. Throughout the fight, run to the left, especially when the enemy is on the ground. And while the enemy is on the ground, do not worry about anything else. The only move you should use is when the owl flies into the air. At this moment, he will shoot gray skulls at you every time. Run forward at a 45 degree angle to avoid being hit, then block the released knives, then fog and knives again, and then a charged red attack will follow. You can either counterattack the owl during the red attack, or just run to the left. The latter is enough to make the owl miss every time. While in the air, the owl always repeats this exact sequence of actions. When it misses, attack it from behind. Wait until the owl flies into the sky again, and then repeat the actions. Attack only after this sequence. You will be completely safe, and there is no risk!
Twice during the fight, the owl will summon the Dark Yokai World, where a red sphere will also appear. You can either run away and wait for the Dark World to disappear on its own (after about a minute), or destroy the red sphere. Be careful, because while you are focused on the sphere, the owl will most likely try to attack you. Attack the sphere only after the owl performs the above combo with a red attack at the end. Make sure that the owl falls somewhere far from the red sphere, and not next to it. Also, watch your ki supply. You should have enough stamina to unload a powerful combo on the red sphere and destroy it instantly. If you don’t want to suffer, then just run away and wait for the Yokai World to disappear on its own. Then run left around the owl and attack after a charged lunge.
How to defeat Magar Naotaka
Before you is a huge ice giant. At the moment, this enemy has the largest health reserve of all the encountered bosses. Individual blows of the boss do minimal damage, but he has many combos, any of which can instantly kill Hide. Luckily, you can easily avoid all of Magar’s attacks. And to do this, again, continue to move to the left, around the boss. Having light armor (with the total weight of equipment below 30%) will help increase the speed of ki recovery, thanks to which you will be able to run non-stop.
Choose a distance from which he will try to attack you, but will not be able to reach you. Run clockwise around Magar, and when he finishes his combo, you will be behind him or next to him, thanks to which you will be able to deliver 1-2 hits from a middle stance (remember that an attack from behind deals increased damage). Again, a spear will be useful, due to its large range of damage. Just press 1-2 times on the “triangle” from a middle stance. In this battle, you will have to dodge a lot and stick to the middle stance, which has higher defense and minimal ki consumption for dodging. Avoid the high stance, which consumes too much ki when dodging! And in general, dodging is slower.
Don’t try to attack the enemy with long combos. He will simply strike back. Play it safe, attack one hit at a time. Be prepared for a long fight. As long as you stick to the one-hit, two-hit rule, you will be relatively safe. If you wear heavy armor, you will have problems with ki recovery. So change it to light armor so that your equipment weight is below 30%.
There is a hot spring in front of the boss. Behind a hidden wall to the left of the enemy, where 3 samurai stand. When the Yokai world is activated, the boss starts using 2 new moves at once. He hits especially hard with a charged, red attack. The last hit will have a large range of damage. It is difficult to dodge the last hit, so you will often have to block it. And if you feel good with timing, you can counterattack. The enemy will also start throwing ice spikes on the ground, but they are easy to dodge if you continue to run to the left around the enemy.
How to defeat Azai Nagamasa
Another person. So use the standard tactic with constant movement so that the enemy misses, and you can counterattack. But unlike the previous cases, run to the right, counterclockwise. Triangle strikes from the middle stance work very well. Repeat the tactic throughout the fight. Fortunately, the boss does minimal damage. You can also safely block his strikes, which drain minimal ki. A good alternative to dodging and running in circles.
How to beat Saiko Magoichi
A boss that appeared in Nioh 1, but this time the fight does not take place in a burning room. Instead, you will find yourself in a spacious hall with many columns. What makes the enemy special is his ability to fly in bird form. When he starts flying, hide behind a column and wait for him to shoot three times. The column will block the bullets. After that, he will jump to the floor, giving you a few seconds to attack (for maximum damage, hit from a high stance).
Never play him in the open. The boss has a lot of powerful combos and a fire attack for close combat. Instead, hide behind the pillars and wait for him to come closer. If he shoots, stay behind the pillar. When he is close, go around the pillar and attack from the side while he is trying to run to you. Basically, you should circle the pillar and attack the enemy as much as you can with your current ki supply. Then retreat behind another pillar and repeat.
Be careful when the boss summons several fire spheres. They fly straight at you even if you are behind the pillar. When this happens, run forward towards the boss at a 45 degree angle. Run from one side of the arena to the other. The fireballs will fly past. After that, hide behind the pillar again and wait for Saiko to get closer. Sometimes he throws bombs. You can block them with L1.
How to defeat Gyuki
The biggest monster you will ever encounter in the game. However, despite its size, it does not have a lot of health points. It is also very slow. All you need to do is approach its belly from the side and hit it with a “triangle” from a high stance. Whenever it jumps up, use a block. But never stand in front of the enemy! While you are on the side, it cannot attack hide with anything except jumping. Which is easy to see and block. Even if you have low ki, blocking will completely eliminate damage. Basically, you need to learn to block this one move, and the fight will be easy.
How to defeat Kasya
Kasia is the first boss where running left or right isn’t enough. She moves on two large wheels that leave flames on the ground. She will use them to perform AoE attacks, creating fire circles in the arena or speeding towards you, leaving a trail of fire behind her. Try to avoid the fire so that your character doesn’t catch fire, causing damage over time.
Ideally, you need to make at least 2 fire talismans (in the Onemo magic tree), which will increase fire protection. Also, in the Onemo magic tree, it is worth buying the Firebreak II skill, which gives +8 fire resistance. If you start to burn, use sakedaion-jina.
Now for the tactics. There are two moves you should use to safely attack your opponent. These are the moments when you can perform long combos, as the enemy will not be able to counterattack or defend.
First, we are talking about speeding towards hide when Kasia moves in a zigzag and leaves fire trails behind her. Run sideways or dodge to the side (preferably to the right). When Kasia passes by, immediately run up to her. When she stops, attack her with a long combo with high damage (from a high stance). For 4-5 seconds, she is at your disposal! If you manage to break the yellow crystals on the side wheels, the boss will take additional damage. Thus, you do not need to use target lock.
The second attack is a red glow, when the boss accelerates towards you in a straight line, leaving behind two fiery trails. After such an attack, the enemy remains defenseless for 3-4 seconds. This is enough for 2-3 hits.
Besides these two moves, try to ignore all other moments. Move away from the enemy in a straight line, block any attacks and do not get carried away with dodging, since most likely during them Kasia will hit you with her long whip. It is much easier and safer to block whip strikes. Even with almost zero ki, you will be able to block all damage from the whip.
When Kasia enters the Yokai Realm, she will start summoning spinning circular blades. They will chase you for about 30 seconds. Just move around the arena and do not try to attack the boss until the blade disappears. During the second phase in the Yokai Realm, be prepared for Kasia to summon two Gaki. They are aggressive and deal increased damage. Kill them as soon as possible, but at the moment Kasia performs one of the two attacks above, after which she will be harmless. Save the Yokai form for the last stage, when Kasia has about 10% of her maximum health points left.
This will be the hardest boss in the game by this point, but if you’ve taken care of your fire resistance and dealt with the burning as soon as it happens, your potions will last you a long time.
How to defeat GyuRemen Sukunaka
A large yokai that is half fire and half ice. He can switch between his forms, but usually attacks with his fire half in close combat and his ice half from afar. The main moves you’ll want to use are his red lunges, which you counter with R2 + circle. Luckily, the timing is pretty easy, and you’ll get used to it quickly. He also uses the attack a lot. After a successful counter, you’ll be able to land the longest combo on the boss. In between the red attacks, run left or right, staying at a safe distance. Let the enemy miss, then land a few hits. Repeat.
How well you time your counters will affect the difficulty of the fight. Not only will these moves drain the boss’s ki, but they will also provide an opportunity for a long combo that will drain the enemy’s stamina even more. Without ki, the enemy will stagger with each strike.
How to beat Moeda Toshiie
An average human boss who uses a spear, quick strikes, and agility. But he has little health. Move in a circle, to the left, which will make the enemy miss often. If you move to the right, there will be fewer misses. After the boss misses, you can attack him. Here, the ninjutsu skill comes in handy, allowing you to place paralyzing spikes on the ground. When the boss is in the trap’s range, it will paralyze him for a few seconds. Go around him from behind and attack from behind to inflict maximum damage. In principle, you can do without spikes, moving in a circle and attacking in between the enemy’s combos.
How to defeat Shibata Katsuie
This boar fanged yokai uses the element of fire. For most of the fight, he will attack you with moves that you simply cannot escape. Instead, you need to dodge to the side just before the enemy crashes into Hide. It is best to use light armor in this fight, making sure that the loadout is below 30%. Now for the fight itself. Remember that attacking from behind does double damage. I would recommend using a mid stance. Low does little damage, and high makes you too slow. A spear is a great option. The triangle attack from mid stance is fast and does a lot of damage to the boss’s ki. Once the ki is depleted, you can unload your combo.
There are three boss moves after which you can safely attack him (otherwise, don’t try to attack):
– A grab move that is easily identified by the haze. Dodge to the side a moment before the grab (after he jumps towards you), after which you can strike him from behind 2-3 times. Do not try to escape the grab! He will still catch you! Dodges only!
– Charged attack. He will try to ram you by running back and forth 2-3 times. Sometimes even four! Do not try to run away from this attack, as he will catch up to you and damage you. Instead, stop and wait to dodge at the last moment. Do this for all of his runs, after which you can run up and hit him from behind 2-3 times.
– A long combo with a red charged attack. This combo will be absolutely devastating for you. You need to look for salvation in a counterattack. If you missed the timing, still keep pressing R2 + “circle”. Most likely, one of the attempts will stop the boss. Even if the timing was missed, you can still stop this attack. After that, you will be able to hit the enemy about three times from the front.
Just focus on these three movements.
How to defeat Tokichiro
There is one simple way to defeat the enemy. Equip a spear in a high stance and open a skill that allows you to use R1 (the starting one for the spear). Thus, performing a ki pulse with a spear, you will be able to throw the enemy back and stun him infinitely. All you need to do is press “square” and R1, repeating the actions. The only thing he will be able to counter you with is a counterattack (the blade glows blue, and you hear the sound of a bell). He also summons a guardian spirit that jumps around the location, but it is easy to escape from it. If you attack Tokichiro when his blade is shining, you risk getting captured. The enemy will be able to kill you with literally one blow.
How to defeat Hachiska Koroku
Koroku is an average boss who uses a kusarigama and the element of water. If you’ve done the side quests, you’ve already encountered Koroku in one of them. But back then, he was much weaker and used a different set of moves. This time, the enemy is more agile and uses completely different techniques. Luckily, single hits from the kusarigama do minimal damage. Between his combos, you can land a few quick hits (I recommend the middle stance, which is easier to dodge)
One of the moves to use against Koroku is when he jumps into the air, throws his kusarigama to the ground, and then pulls it towards him. Just dodge to the side, and then attack the enemy for a few seconds. And you can hit him from behind. That is, it will be easy for you to dodge, and after that, the enemy will be defenseless. If you want to act as carefully as possible, then exclude everything else and attack the enemy only after this move. In the Yokai world, he becomes more aggressive. If you do not want to fight him in this form, then run for a minute.
How to defeat Daidarabotti
Dadarabothti is another huge monster the size of a mountain. You can win the fight if you destroy the yellow amrita on his giant hands. Attack only it. Nothing else! Each fragment you destroy reduces the boss’s ki supply. You can also destroy the fragments on both the left and right hands in a chaotic manner. When the ki is depleted, you can climb up the enemy’s arm and strike his eye. Repeat the actions until the enemy dies. There will be 3 stages in total. Before each, he will grow new fragments.
A spear in a middle stance with quick attacks on the “square” is the best option. You will be able to hit 3 or more crystals at once. Make combinations of three hits. This way, you will be able to destroy the desired crystals as quickly as possible. This cannot be achieved, for example, with a katana. It turns out that any sweeping attack with a weapon that allows you to inflict damage in several directions works here. When you see red circles on the ground, run away. And when the enemy hides his hand underground, be ready to perform a counterattack.
How to defeat Shuten Doji
A large yokai who uses a sword and the element of fire. He deals a lot of damage per hit, but he is slow and uses a move that makes him extremely vulnerable. When he is drunk, he falls to the ground, and you can finish him off with a “triangle”. Use R2 and “circle” on each charged attack of the enemy. One of these attacks is a grab, another is a fiery flame from the mouth. After a successful counterattack, perform a combo.
Between his combos, you will also have a few seconds to attack. As a rule, the enemy will have to recover for a long time before making a new attack. Try to attack him from behind, dealing double damage. When he swings his sword, either move back or dodge forward to the left at a 45-degree angle. Dodge right before the blade hits you. This way, you can dodge and strike from the side. Avoid the fire on the floor.
How to defeat Mrs. Osakabe
A giant boss that requires you to destroy its weapon to defeat it. There will be furry arms on the sides that you must destroy. Each arm destroyed will reduce the monster’s ki supply. After destroying four arms, the boss will fall onto the roof, and you can run up and attack its red eye.
The hands will shoot orbs of different elements at you. Grabbing a target with one hand will make it difficult to see the others. But if you listen carefully, you can notice the sounds that accompany the shots. Use high-stance attacks to deal maximum damage to the furry hands’ ki. Once the ki is depleted, the hand will fall to the roof, and you can easily finish it off.
How to defeat Tokichiro (second fight)
The second time, Tokichiro will be more aggressive, starting to use elemental attacks. However, the same method with the spear works, which was described above, during the first meeting. Equip the spear, choose a high stance and use one of the first skills, which, when using ki pulse, allows you to throw the enemy back, stunning him. Alternate “square” with R1, and you will succeed.
However, there is another side to the coin. Tokichiro’s counter has been improved. When he blocks a strike and you hear a sound cue and the enemy’s swords start glowing, you know that he is about to perform a grab if you attack him at that moment. So watch him carefully and do not attack at such moments.
You can use ninjutsu and choose equipment that allows you to poison Tokichiro. However, when he activates the Yokai world, he will get rid of all negative statuses. But while you are using poison, make sure that the enemy does not kill you. In the Yokai world, just run in circles from the enemy, keeping as far away from him as possible. Reflect his fire attacks, avoid getting caught in lightning. After the fire attacks, you will be able to deal a couple of blows. You can run for a minute until the boss returns to his normal form.
How to defeat Kashin Koji
This boss will appear right after the previous fight with Tokichiro. Luckily, if you die, you won’t have to fight the latter. Instead, after reaching the arena from the altar, you’ll immediately fight Kashin. The boss mainly relies on elemental magic. He’s kind of like a mage with low armor and low health. When you deplete the boss’s health for the first time, he’ll get back on his feet and you’ll have to fight him again. If you die in the second phase, you’ll have to start over from the first.
By running in circles from the boss, you can easily reflect all his attacks. Wait for him to open up, hit him once, retreat and repeat the action. There is also a hot spring behind the third altar. You can use it if you die.
When the boss activates the Yokai World, he will be able to spawn clones of himself. Hit each one once to make them disappear. However, he does not always do this. When blades with some element start falling from the sky, just block them. They are hard to escape. The best stance for this fight is mid or high. For spearmen, we recommend mid stance with a “triangle” attack.
How to defeat William
Yes, you’ll be fighting the hero of Nioh 1. The battle is pretty simple. William will run at you. While he’s moving, press “triangle” once, performing a heavy attack from a high stance. While he’s running, William doesn’t defend. If he’s doing anything else, run to the side. William doesn’t have much health, so the battle won’t take long.
How to defeat Otakemaru
Otakemaru will use all of his yokai forms (power, wild, ghost), and will switch between them regularly. When his health bar drops to 50%, the boss will activate his true form. His moveset will change. When he has less than 25% health left, his moveset will change again, and he will have spinning swords around him that he can throw or hit you with.
This is the hardest boss in the game because he has too many different stages and moves that could potentially kill Hide in one hit. First, let’s decide what attacks to use.
Equip a spear in a high stance. Run towards the enemy, strike at the “square”, and then press R1 to pulse, taking into account that you have unlocked a skill that stuns enemies when pulsing with a spear. You will deal additional damage. If you manage to get around the boss, you can deal double damage from behind. Just run around him without stopping. He is very fast, so slow attacks are inappropriate here. Attacking while moving is less risky. If he misses, you will have enough time to deal him several precise blows from the side or even from behind. But you should mainly focus on single blows.
Take with you the Talismans of Rejuvenation and Steel for Protection. Use them when you are at a safe distance. This fight will take a long time, and you cannot do without Talismans of Protection. And Talismans of Rejuvenation are used as elixirs.
Phase 1 (100-50% health)
During this stage, the boss switches between Feral (electric daggers), Ghost (purple with ranged attacks), and Power (red with heavy melee attacks) forms.
Savagery (blades): Run to the right and attack straight ahead once while moving using R1. When he does the red attack, either catch him with a counter or dodge to the right when the animation starts. Sometimes he will jump in the air and slash the ground with his daggers. If you can run away or dodge, he will be vulnerable for a while. Savagery is the fastest form. Focus on dealing damage.
Ghost (ranged): He will throw a blade that is hard to dodge. Luckily, the damage is minimal. Use the Steel and Rejuvenation Talismans. Steel will block most of the damage. Run to the right and continue to hit in the pauses between attacks.
Strength (Melee): This is the slowest form. Let him miss with his combo. And when he finishes, run up from behind and attack. Retreat and repeat.
Phase 2 (50-25%)
He will change into his true form and will no longer switch between savage, force and ghost. He will remain the same for the rest of the fight.
When Okatemaru plunges his sword into the ground and lunges at you, he will attempt a heavy strike. Just before landing, dodge to the side at a 45 degree angle (to the right). Do not attempt to dodge while he is jumping! Only before landing! Otherwise, he will find the strength to change direction. You need to dodge at the last moment. Use heavy strikes on the “triangle”, attacking from behind from the upper stance. Do this after a jump with a miss. For a short time, he will be motionless.
When he slams his sword on the floor, he either sets the ground on fire or electrifies it within a large radius. If you are close to Otakemaru, there is not enough time to retreat. There is nothing you can do about it. If you are at a medium distance, you will have enough time to leave the affected area. When he glows red, run. He strikes very quickly, and you will not even have time to counter. And if you do not have time to do so, the enemy will strike two more additional times. Too risky, so run.
When he hits the ground with his ice blade, three puddles of water will appear. Run away quickly. Each puddle deals massive damage, and if you hit all three, you’ll die. When he throws the ice spears, move to the side. They’ll miss. When he activates the Yokai World, continue doing everything the same as before. His attacks don’t change. Everything is the same. It’s just that your ki regenerates slower.
The best moves you could use are jumps, after which there will be a short moment to attack. You will probably use up all your steel and rejuvenation talismans during this stage. This is normal, because you should have 7-8 elixirs left.
Phase 3 (25-0%)
Now the boss has swords flying around him that he can throw at Hide. He can also attack you from afar, but you can easily dodge to the side. He can throw swords in a large ring, which will instantly kill the hero, even if you block! He will continue his previous movements, but will start using new techniques.
If you see the enemy throwing swords in a straight line with a gray glow, this is his powerful grab. It is easy to avoid. Just run to the side. If he throws the swords around the arena, he will then throw them at hide. Avoid a direct hit! It can kill you with one hit. Do not stand still, but run to the right to dodge the sword. If he throws both blades at you in a straight line, you will probably die. The only chance to save yourself is to run to the side. Even blocking will not help!
When he throws the swords into the air, they will fall on you after a few seconds. Run quickly to the right at a 45-degree angle. If you get stuck in the rain of blades, you will die. Do not try to block them! Try to leave 1-2 steel talismans for this stage, so that the blades cannot kill you with one hit. If you often die from one hit, then level up, invest points in addition. Thus, at the last stage, you should completely forget about blocking. It is better to constantly move and attack ahead.
