New World – a guide for beginners

How to create and level up a character in New World, how to get resources, main character indicators and tips for leveling skills

In the new MMO New World from Amazon, you will face the dangerous nature of the island, various monsters and undead, as well as confront other players. I have prepared for you basic New World tips that will help you get used to the game and quickly level up your character.

Character Creation

When you first start the game, you can create your first character. Also, you can create up to four characters on one account and switch between them at any convenient time. Complete the tutorial introductory quest in which you will learn how to use the basic game mechanics, as well as confront monsters. When you get to the “mainland” carry out the assignments of the character Charity Douglas to unlock new items and pump your character.

How to get resources

Resources in New World will be needed to create weapons, various dishes and potions. Some resources can be harvested by hand, while others require special tools. Crafting can be done in the base camp of all beginners when interacting with a bonfire.

For example, regular branches (Green Wood) are obtained both from small bushes and by felling trees. In the first case, you will not need additional tools for extracting branches, and for cutting trees you will have to craft an ax (Flint Logging Ax).

Be sure to craft a Flint Skinning Knife to get animal hide and meat, and you will need a Flint Harvesting Sickle to harvest Fibers and some herbs. All the blueprints you need can be found in the crafting menu.

The regions where you can get valuable resources are often inhabited by powerful enemies. Before extracting such resources, you should definitely pump your character and stock up on dishes for health regeneration.

You can get clean water from wells that are scattered around the world of New World. In particular, such wells are found in cities. For mining

You can process resources in the game using special machines. Use a Woodshop Tier for woodworking and a Stonecutting Table for stonework. Leather goods are made on a tannery tier. Similar machines can be found in any city.

Attributes

All character indicators have six levels. The level of the indicator can be pumped using the available weapons or during the restoration of the character’s health with various dishes. A separate type of weapon is tied to each indicator.

At first, it is best for beginners to pump the Strength, Dexterity and Constitution of the character. As you complete the main tasks in the game and increase the level of the character, you can open magic staves (Magic) and ranged weapons (Ranged Weapons), and then start pumping intelligence (Intelligence) and focus skills (Focus).

How to upgrade a character in New World

To quickly upgrade your character, you need to choose the optimal weapons and equipment. You can use absolutely any available weapon, the main thing is that it is convenient for you to play with it.

To earn the maximum amount of character experience in a short time, be sure to complete the main and additional tasks. When you get to the first city, then complete all the introductory quests, after which additional daily assignments will become available to you. Usually, such assignments are carried out as you explore the game world. For example, in some cases you need to collect a certain amount of wood, stone, or even kill an alligator. For each completed assignment, you will receive not only character experience, but also a certain amount of coins.

Some tasks require you to travel a lot. Since the fast travel system in the game becomes available at later levels, you can save time in another way. Set the spawn point in any city (the game itself will offer to do this when you first visit the city), and when you complete the quest far from this city, make sure that your character dies and revives in a location with the necessary NPC to complete the quest. You can also set up your own camp and set a spawn point if needed.

To quickly level up the skill of a weapon, you need to constantly use it. The more undead you destroy with your blade or ax, the faster you will level up and receive bonuses for a specific type of weapon. It should be remembered that using a sword and shield you will never pump the skill of using magic staves.

Tips for PvP battles in New World. Which faction to choose

PvP battles are the main part of New World, although there have been dramatic changes in the mechanics of such battles since the release of the first version of the game. To take part in PvP battles, you must first reach level 10 and join any faction. Participation and victories in such battles give you a temporary 10% bonus to experience gain, and defeats will definitely affect the health of your weapons and equipment.

Several PvP modes are available in the game today:

  1. Duel Mode:In this mode, players are split into two teams and fight each other. One team can have up to 5 players.
  2. Capturing an Outpost: Themode involves the capture of an outpost by two teams on a large map. One team can have up to 20 players. The goal of this PvP mode is to score 1000 points for your team by capturing outposts. Captured outposts generate 1 point every 3 seconds, and each player kill gives 1 point for your team.

Fractions

There are only three factions in the game “The Marauders” , “The Covenant” and “Syndicate” . If you are interested in how these factions differ from each other, then I can confidently answer that they are absolutely the same and do not have advantages over one another.

Factions can capture territories and hold them, increase various tax collections and complete various projects in controlled cities (for example, increase the level of a blacksmith). You can take the easy route and choose the faction that currently dominates your game server, or join a less influential faction and thus create healthy competition for your enemies.
