Names of Allah and Their Effect on Our Lives

Every place our eyes see, every event of the passing time, is a manifestation of Allah’s unique attributes and names on earth. So much so that all created beings, starting with man, benefit from only a fraction of this divine grace. However, even while benefiting from a very small portion of Allah’s power, mankind, who considers himself so intelligent, acts quite unhurriedly in recognizing his creator and getting closer to him. However, knowing His names that surround the universe by heart is like a knitting that weaves meaning. Therefore, in our news, we have compiled for you some of Allah’s names that we should give more space to in our lives.

Er-Rafiq

Names of Allah

The root of the word “Rafiq” means “gentle, gentle” and indicates that Allah is gentle and merciful. Likewise, according to the narration from Hz. Aisha , our prophet said:

Allah is gentle and loves gentleness. He rewards gentleness in a way He does not reward harshness, and He does not reward anything like it.

Muslim

While living Islam, we can sometimes forget that we represent the most peaceful religion and display aggressive and uncompromising attitudes. However, showing patience and kindness, especially towards ideologies that oppose Islam, is one of the characteristics that we should incorporate into our lives based on this sublime attribute in Allah’s own essence.

Er-Rival

Names of Allah

It means “always careful” and indicates Allah’s infinite knowledge and His power that can reach even the quietest whispers buried in hearts. As a matter of fact, Allah Almighty states in the Holy Quran:

O people! Beware of disobedience to your Lord, who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from both of them scattered many men and women. And beware of disrespecting Allah, in whose name you seek help from one another, and of not observing kinship ties. Surely, Allah is watchful over you.

Surah An-Nisa Verse 1

A name that both reminds us of the grateful fear we feel towards our Creator and also purifies man from all fears due to the greatness of His knowledge… A Muslim is someone who is always aware of having a listener, a watcher, and a knowledge that knows his soul better than he knows himself.

Al-Malik

Names of Allah

It expresses that Allah is the real owner of all property. All the past and future assets that we possess belong only to Allah. Because everything is destined to return to Him in the end. The fate of the properties that belong to Him is again the result of Allah’s will. The 26th verse of Surah Ali Imran states the following:

Say: O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty! You give sovereignty to whomever You will and You take sovereignty from whomever You will. You exalt whomever You will and You humiliate whomever You will. Nay, [all] is in Your hand. You have power over all things.

Remembering El-Malik while using the names of Allah in our lives will help us understand that what we have is a temporary reflection. It will protect us from greed, ambition and excessive love for money, which prevents people from doing good .

The Most Gracious

It is the name of Allah that describes His mercy towards all humanity. There is no limit to Allah’s mercy, He is beyond all limits. Even the most unworthy of forgiveness can be forgiven in His presence. Understanding Allah’s name Er-Rahman is, in a way, being able to read the framework of His true religion, Islam. Because Allah advises us not to abandon good morals and mercy in His commands and prohibitions. On the other hand, He also advises us not to neglect a strong stance. In addition, it is emphasized in our religion that mercy will not be shown to those who do not show mercy . Because a person can only be rewarded for what he has done. A Muslim should be the bearer of beauty and a servant worthy of Allah’s attributes.

Al-Mutakabbir

Names of Allah

Finally, the name Al-Mutakabbir, which indicates the greatness and divinity of Allah, points to His being that has authority over everything. Allah says in the 29th verse of Surah An-Nahl :

So enter the gates of Hell, to abide therein forever. Evil and harsh is the abode of the arrogant.

Greatness is a rank that belongs to God, who holds the souls of all living beings in His hand. The arrogance that a person falls into, even indirectly, pushes him into a dead end full of disappointment. Because, first of all, a person must know how helpless he is in the face of the perfection of the universe.

These are just a few of the names that help us describe the greatness of Allah. Adding more to our knowledge and making them the eyes of the earth will undoubtedly help us internalize the power of our Lord.
