To use the cheat mode in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord , you will need to perform simple manipulations with one of the configuration text files. Despite the fact that such file changes will not allow you to activate the in-game console, you can still use several cheat codes to add any weapons or items to your character (and then, for example, sell them for a get rich quick), teleport to map, heal yourself and win battles by pressing hot keys.
How to activate cheats?
First, you need to edit a specific file on your computer. Follow the path Documents & gt; Mount and Blade II Bannerlord & gt; engine_config.txt. Open this file using a regular text editor (Notepad or Notepad +). Look for the line cheat_mode = 0. Replace “0” with “1” and save the file.
After that, start the game and get ready to use the cheat commands. Some forum users also report that using cheats may require starting a new game (campaign). However, in my case, everything worked with the old save. However, other gamers report that when activating cheat codes on old saves, their game performance has significantly decreased.
How do I get any items and money?
With cheater mode enabled, simply open your inventory to see a list of ALL items available in the game. It’s on the left side of the screen. Click on the arrow next to any item to move it to your inventory. When you order everything you want, click on the “Run” button.
There is no cheat code for getting money in the game, but you can collect as many things as you want, and then sell them in any settlement.
How to win a battle using cheat mode?
There are several commands when the cheater mode is activated, which greatly simplify the battles:
- Ctrl + F4 – during a battle, allows you to get rid of one opponent.
- Ctrl + Alt + F4 – Get rid of all enemies at once.
- Ctrl + Shift + F4 – Get rid of only those enemies that are visible on the screen.
- Ctrl + Shift + F6 – Stun Your Army.
- CTRL + F6 – stun one warrior from your army.
- Ctrl + F9 – activate slow motion mode.
- CTRL + F11 – Stop time in battle.
- CTRL + LMB on one of the units – upgrade all units in accordance with the parameters of the selected soldier.
- Ctrl + F3 – damage the main character.
And one more cheat code will allow you to teleport to any point on the map:
- Ctrl + LMB – works only in the world map mode. Hold CTRL and click anywhere in the game world to instantly teleport there.
Console commands
In addition to the cheat mode, the game has a hidden developer console. To activate it, you will have to download a third party mod. Fortunately, it is available on a trusted resource – Nexus:

By the way, after installation, the same console allows you to enable or disable cheat mode. To do this, enter the following commands, respectively:
- cheat_mode 1
- cheat_mode 0
A few well-known console commands that you will probably find useful:
- add_gold_to_hero X – replace X with the desired amount of gold.
- add_skill_xp_to_hero – increasing the level of the main character.
- add_influence X – replace X with the desired number of influence points.
- add_renown_to_clan X – replace X with the desired amount of renown for the clan rank.
- give_troops help – allows you to find out the IDs of all units (required for the cheat code below).
- give_troops [Enter ID from above command] X – get X desired units. At the end of the cheat code, add the warrior ID that you learned from the command above.
- list_active_quests – see a list of active quests.
- complete_active_quest – complete the current quest.
- cancel_active_quest – cancel active quest.
- conceive_child – to conceive a child (in this case, your character will marry if he has not yet married; a partner will be chosen automatically, randomly).
