Microsoft Lumia 950 XL vs Google Nexus 6P – Comparison

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL is one good looking smartphone when it comes to Windows 10 Mobile specifications and features .The point is, how does it compare to the Google Nexus 6P ?

Both devices are solid when it comes to overall specs and design. Interestingly, the internal specifications are very similar and the main defining aspect is the operating system. The Lumia 950 XL runs on Windows 10 Mobile, while the Nexus 6P runs on Google’s latest version of Android.

Lumia 950 XL vs Nexus 6P

Let’s see how these devices stack up.

Display size:

We all know that size matters in today’s world and therefore we have to praise the display of both devices. The Lumia 950 XL has a superb 5.7-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. The same can be said for the Google Nexus 6P. The main difference between both screens is the pixel density in which the Lumia 650 XL comes out on top. Its pixel density is 515 ppi, while the density for the Nexus 6P is 518 ppi.

RAM and processor:

We can see that both devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and an Adreno 430 GPU. The processor clocks in at 2 GHz, which should be fast enough for the operating system to run at full speed.

Internal and external storage .

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL is bringing back the love of external storage to high-end mobile devices. It comes with 32GB of internal storage and the option to expand it with a 200GB microSD card. As for the Nexus 6P, it comes in one variant, from 32GB to 128GB of internal storage.

Front and back cameras.

Both phones have impressive cameras, but the Lumia 950 XL wins with a 20MP rear sniper and a 5MP front camera for taking selfies and making video calls. The Nexus 6P, on the other hand, rocks a 12.3MP camera at the back and an 8MP sensor at the front.

We’ve seen over and over again that having megapixels doesn’t always mean photos look great. We’ll have to wait and see which of these devices is better in the camera department.

Battery Life:

These smartphones have huge screens and powerful internals, so they are expected to require huge batteries to power users for 24 hours. The Lumia 950 XL will ship with a 3,340mAh battery, and Microsoft says it is capable of 300 hours of standby time and 19 hours of talk time.

As for the Google Nexus 6P, it comes with a 3450mAh battery, and Google stated that users can get up to 7 hours of talk time after a simple 10-minute charge. That’s impressive, although we’re pretty sure the Lumia 950 XL can do the same since both devices use USB Type-C for charging.

Prices:

Google has an advantage as the Nexus 6P comes in a variety of flavors and the Lumia 950 XL is just one phone. The cheapest Nexus 6P will set you back $ 499 and comes with 32GB of storage. The most expensive one costs $ 649 and will have 128GB of storage.
