About the character

The name Jane Doe itself is commonly used by police to refer to victims whose details are unknown or deliberately hidden. In Zenless Zone Zero, we also don’t know Jane’s real name, and she most likely uses it as an alias.

We first meet the agent in the story in the “Undercover Rat” section, and you can also play as her there outside of the test run. Jane belongs to the Anomaly class and deals physical damage in combat, which can increase when an attribute anomaly is activated.

How to get

Jane is an S-class event agent, so she can only be obtained from a signature signal search. Also, in her summon, you have an increased chance to get Enby, and another new agent – Seth.

Skills

Basic attacks

Skill Gain Description
Basic attack Dance with blades Uses short knives to attack enemies and performs a 6-hit combo, each dealing physical damage.
Madness of excitement Whenever a Perfect Dodge, Defensive Assist, or any offensive move is activated, Jay builds up the Thrill Rush gauge. When it reaches its maximum, the agent enters the Thrill Frenzy state.

During the duration of the Madness of Excitement, the rate of accumulation of the physical attribute anomaly increases by 25%. And if Jane’s anomaly knowledge indicator is higher than 120 points, then each point above that gives 2 points of attack power (maximum increase: 600).

While the state of Gambling Frenzy lasts, Jane’s offensive skills consume the Gambling Surge. Activating Perfect Dodge or Defense Assist restores the gauge points. When they are exhausted, the effect ends.

Salchow While in Gambling Frenzy, Jane can perform a Salchow attack. To activate it, hold down the basic attack button and continue to perform rapid strikes. At the end of the combo or after you release the button, Jane performs a finishing attack and gains temporary invulnerability.

When using this skill, the agent’s interrupt resistance is increased and after use, the Excitement Surge points are restored.

Evasion Mirage Slide past enemies, avoiding their attacks.
Dash Attack: Rib Jump After your first dodge, quickly press the basic attack button to perform an upward slash.

After the second dodge, pressing the basic attack causes Jane to perform a series of attacks.

Dash Attack: Phantom Strike If you press a basic attack after dodging while in Gambling Frenzy, the agent will perform three quick strikes in front of them.
Counterattack after dodging: Misty Haze After a perfect dodge, use a normal attack to counter. The first time it will be a series of slashes, while the second time it will cause Jane to jump into the air and swing her knives three times, attacking enemies.
Counterattack after dodging: Dance in the misty haze While Gambling Frenzy is active, all of Jane’s counterattacks are replaced with slashing combos in front of her.
Help Quick Help: Black Thorn When Quick Assist is activated during a Gaming Frenzy, the agent will perform a quick slashing attack upon spawning.
Quick Help: Lutz When Quick Assist is activated during a Gaming Frenzy, the agent will perform a quick slashing attack upon spawning.
Defense Assistance: Last Line of Defense When an ally is about to be attacked, switch to Jane to perform a parry and build up a lot of stun points.
Additional Attack Assist: Wind Gust After assisting in defense, press the basic attack button to dash and charge a small area with electricity and cause an explosion.
Special attack (E) Air swing Jane jumps into the air to perform a series of kicks, followed by a wide slash.
Enhanced Special Attack: Tail Smash When the energy bar is filled to activate a powered up attack, the agent’s attacks during the skill are greatly increased and she will additionally kick enemies several times.
Chain of attacks (ulta) Flowers of Evil When starting a chain of attacks, select Jane to perform slashing attacks over a large area. This will also cause her to enter the Gambling Frenzy state and charge the Gambling Rush meter to full.
Superpower: Final Act When 3000 decibels are reached, the agent can use her ultimate, which involves slashing back and forth before performing a final blow that deals massive physical damage.

The Excitement Surge gauge is also filled and the Excitement Madness state is activated.

Makings

Main Passive Skill: The Essence of Things .

Whenever Jane damages enemies, they are afflicted with Rat Bite for 10 seconds. When allies hit an enemy afflicted with Charge and activate Cowardice, they:

  • Cowardice is extended by 5 seconds;
  • Damage from Onslaught (physical anomaly) can deal 50% critical damage with a 20-40% chance. Each point of Jane’s anomaly knowledge can add critical hit chance to this effect.

Additional ability: Pain point .

If there are 2 or more agents with the Anomaly specialty in the squad, the physical attribute anomaly on the enemy accumulates 20% faster. And if it is already activated, its re-accumulation is additionally accelerated by 15%.

Priority of pumping

First of all, it is worth pumping Jane’s inclinations and her basic attack. It is in them and passive abilities that the agent’s main damage lies, so we spend resources here. After that, pump up the special attack and ult. The first will give Jane even more damage, and the second will allow her to instantly enter the state of Mad Excitement.

Lastly, we pump up evasion and assistance. They work pretty well, but it is important for our rat to stay on the battlefield as long as possible. Therefore, you will switch to other heroes only for parries and buffs or during a chain of attacks.

Amplifier options

Name Base stats Characteristics Description
Pointed thorns 56–714 attacks;

36–90 knowledge of anomalies.

After using a dash attack, the wearer gains 1 stack of Predatory Instinct. It appears every 0.5 seconds and stacks up to 3 times. Each stack grants 12-24% physical damage for 8 seconds.

At maximum levels, the efficiency of attribute anomaly accumulation increases by 40-80%.

Upon entering the field or activating Perfect Evasion, the agent instantly activates 3 stacks of Predatory Instinct.

Jane’s signature amplifier. Gives her all the necessary stats: physical damage, knowledge of the anomaly and the efficiency of its accumulation. Allows her to stay on the battlefield longer and deal increased damage.
Roaring car 42–624 attacks;

10-25% attack.

When the wearer hits an enemy with a special attack that is enhanced, one of 3 random effects will be activated:

  • Increases attack power by 8–11.6%;
  • Knowledge of anomaly increases by 40-58 units;
  • The efficiency of anomaly accumulation is increased by 25-36%.

The effect occurs once every 0.3 seconds and cannot be repeated when reactivated.

An excellent 4* amplifier that gives a lot of attack and increases the bonuses of the wearer’s anomaly. Can work both for Jane’s support dd and for her role as a full-fledged damage dealer.
Built-in compiler 46–684 attacks;

9.6–24% chance of penetration.

The agent’s attack power is increased by 12-24%. When using a special attack or its enhanced version, the knowledge of anomaly is increased by 25-50 units. The bonus can be stacked up to 3 times and lasts for 8 seconds. Grace’s signature amplifier. Not as good as the options above, but can give a lot of anomaly knowledge for our rat.
Electro Lip Gloss 40–595 attacks;

30–75 knowledge of anomalies.

When there are enemies with an active attribute anomaly on the battlefield, the wearer’s attack power increases by 10-16%, and damage to such targets increases by 15-25%. The only downside to this booster is that you have to pay for it. You can only get it from the paid version of the battle pass. But overall, it’s a good option for Jane, especially if she’s the main damage dealer in the squad.
Crying Twins 40–595 attacks;

10-25% attack.

When an attribute anomaly is activated by any ally, the carrier of the amplifier gains 1 level of the buff. Each level increases knowledge of the anomaly by 30-48 units. The buff stacks up to 4 times and disappears when the target is destroyed or comes out of the stun. Another good option if you don’t have the above. Good for large targets and bosses, but not as good as other alternatives when fighting smaller enemies.

Drive disk

The best build of drive discs for Jane will be a set of 4 parts of Fierce Heavy Metal, and 2 parts of Freedom Blues. The first set will give 10% physical damage, and also when activating Onslaught will increase the wearer’s damage by 35% for 15 seconds. The second set 30 units of knowledge of the anomaly, which is necessary for Jane.

Well, the other option also consists of 4 parts of Fierce Heavy Metal, and the second set is Swing Jazz. Here we also get 10% physical damage and 35% damage during Onslaught from the first set. Swing Jazz is needed to quickly accumulate an enhanced special attack, since it gives 20% energy recovery.

Teams

The best team for Qingyi would be a squad with Zhu Yuan. This way, the characters can activate each other’s passives and effectively clear entire enemy halls.

We are taking into the squad:

  • Qingyi;
  • Zhu Yuan;

The second option is a mono-electro squad. Here, Qingyi will act as a support DD and her main goal is to accumulate stun as quickly as possible so that the main damage dealer can enter the field.

This pack includes:

  • Qingyi;
  • Rina;
  • Anton.

Banbu

The best team for the agent would be a build with another anomaly character and one defense character. We recommend putting Seth on the third slot, as he is essentially a signature support for Jane. In addition, he can be obtained in the rat’s banner.

We take into such a team:

  • Jane;
  • Grace/Piper;
  • Seta.

There is also a budget version of the team. We put a stun character in it, and get the fastest possible penetration of the stun scale.

The pack includes:

  • Jane;
  • Enby;
  • Set.

Banbu

The choice of the little helper will depend on the team. But since Jane is always paired with Seth, priority should be given to the banba named Officer Kui.

  • a. Woof! Woof! Woof! Lunges at enemies with bites, dealing physical damage to them.
  • b. Acting guard dog . If there are at least two agents from the special response group of the criminal investigation department in the squad, then after using the skill Woof! Woof! Woof! Banbu additionally bites the enemy with a 50% chance.
  • c. Woof-woof! Woof! When starting a chain of attacks, continuously bites all enemies in its path.

If there are two Anomaly characters in the squad, then Magnetobu can work just fine.

  • a. Magnetic Latch – Continuously magnetizes enemies to itself, dealing physical damage to them upon contact.
  • b. Magnetic Attraction . If there are two or more Anomaly characters in the party, the damage of Magnetic Fixation increases.

And for a budget pack with Enby, choose Shtekerba:

  • a. Electric Shock . Fires an electromagnetic gun at enemies, dealing electrical damage and accumulating anomaly of the Electro attribute.
  • b. Electromancer : When there are at least two Electro-attribute agents in the squad, the anomaly accumulation in the attack chain is increased.
  • c. Powerful Power Surge . Attacks enemies with an area-of-effect electric charge.

Mental picture

Number Name Description
1 Consultant on criminal psychology Basic Attack: Salchow can be used twice instead of once. During the duration of the Madness of Gambling, accumulates attribute anomaly 15% faster, and for each point of knowledge of the anomaly, the damage dealt is increased by 0.1% up to a 30% bonus.
2 Who you hang out with When Jane hits an enemy with the Rat Bite status or allies activate Rush on them, attacks ignore 15% of the target’s defense. If Rush becomes a critical hit, its critical damage is increased by 50%.
3 Anonymity +2 levels to all skills.
4 Master of improvisation When allies activate Onslaught or Chaos, the entire squad begins to deal 18% more attribute anomaly damage for 15 seconds.
5 Rat thriftiness +2 levels to all character skills.
6 Dirty Tricks While Giddy Up is active, Jane gains 20% Critical Hit Chance and 40% Critical Damage. When allies activate Rush, the rat instantly activates Giddy Up, filling her Giddy Up meter to full.

If Onslaught is critical, Jane additionally attacks the enemy with physical damage equal to 1600% of the anomaly knowledge parameter.
