We saw the introduction of new operating systems in the form of iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15 almost two months ago. During that time, many guides have appeared on our magazine, in which we show all the new features and improvements together. Specifically, the mentioned systems were introduced in June this year, at the WWDC development conference, at which Apple presents new versions of the system every year. If you watched the show, it may have seemed to you that the news is rather slow – but in the end the opposite became true and there are more than enough new features. Let’s take a look at another iOS 15 together.
iOS 15: How to (de) enable Sharing of Focus modes across Apple devices
Virtually all new operating systems include a new Concentration mode, which has replaced the Do Not Disturb mode. In a way, Concentration can be considered Do Not Disturb on Steroids. Thanks to Concentration, you can now set several different modes, which you can customize separately. For example, you can also set for each mode which applications will (not) be able to send you notifications, or which contacts will (not) be able to call you. All created Concentration modes are then automatically shared with your other operating systems. But what if sync doesn’t work or you want to turn it off? Just perform (de) activation as follows:
- First, you need to move to the native Settingsapp on your iPhone with iOS 15 .
- Once you have done so, select the Concentrationoption below from the menu that appears .
- The next screen will then display all the modes available to you.
- All you have to do here is to (de) activatethe Share between all devices option below, as needed .
Therefore, you can enable Focus Mode sharing across all your Apple devices in iOS 15 (de) as described above. In addition to sharing the modes as such, the on or off status is also shared. So, for example, if you turn on Game Play mode on iPhone, that mode is automatically activated on Mac, Apple Watch, and other devices. On a Mac, you can then disable sync in System Preferences -> Notifications -> Concentration , where you can uncheck Enable sync via iCloud at the bottom of the window .
