After what seems like a long wait, Sony has announced a special stream to focus on the “future of games”. The stream will be our first real look at the company’s upcoming PlayStation 5 and will hopefully be aimed at triggering some consumer hype.
When is the event?
The reveal will take place Thursday, June 4 at 1:00 a.m. PT.
What will it cover?
According to Sony, this will be our first look at the game we will be able to play when the PS5 launches later this year. The event will cover a range of games, from the Triple-A effort to indie games.
If Sony has been paying attention to the recent backlash from Microsoft, we assume you’ll see a lot of gameplay.
How to watch the event?
You can watch the event by tune into the official PlayStation Youtube or Twitch channels.
Will we see the hardware?
Sony was very loathed for providing too much public information, and many of the developers who will be involved in the reveal weren’t sure when it would happen. We still don’t know if we will see the hardware and take the first look at the new console. While it is possible, we don’t recommend hoping too much.
It’s also very unlikely we’ll find out a release date or introductory price, as both Sony and Microsoft seem to be stuck in a chicken game when it comes to disclosing that information.
