First of all, it’s important to point out that, for now, the feature is exclusive to the beta version. That is, it is not yet available to all WhatsApp users.

  2. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner;

  4. Tap “Multiple Devices (Beta);
  5. Tap the “Enter Beta Version” button.

On iPhone (iOS)

Remembering that the platform allows access to up to four PCs, but you can only connect a cell phone to your WhatsApp account.

It is also worth mentioning that additional devices will be disconnected if the messenger is not used on the mobile for more than 14 days.

What changes from the previous method

Currently, WhatsApp users need to keep their cell phone turned on and connected to the internet to use the application on other platforms. With the arrival of this new feature, each device works independently.

This means that, as with Telegram, it is no longer necessary to keep the cell phone close or turned on, as each device has its own identification.

Conversations will also be available on all connected devices. Therefore, your message history is maintained normally. WhatsApp even warns that end-to-end encryption continues to work to protect user data.

What is not supported by the feature

As much as the feature of multiple devices is interesting, it has some limitations, at least in the beta version. See below which WhatsApp functions are not available:

  • View real-time location on additional devices;
  • Fix conversations on WhatsApp Webor WhatsApp for computer;
  • Join groups and view and reset group invitations on WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp for desktop — you need to use your mobile phone to perform these actions;
  • Send messages or make calls using your connected device to contacts who use very old versions of WhatsApp;
  • Make calls using WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp for desktop to connected devices that do not participate in the multi-device beta;
  • Change your company name or tags in WhatsApp Businessusing WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp for PC.

Okay, now you know how to use WhatsApp on more than one PC at the same time. Thanks to this new feature, the messenger becomes even more attractive. After all, when the exchange of messages through the computer does not require the cell phone connected to the internet or even turned on, everything is better.
