How to use the Walkie-Talkie on our Apple Watch to send voice messages in the easiest way

Walkie-Talkie allows us to send voice messages very easily between two Apple Watch. The function is available on all Apple Watch from Series 1 that are updated to watchOS 5. At first glance it may seem like a game, and it certainly has a fun component, but it goes much further to present itself as a great tool for the communication .

How to add and manage our contacts

Walkie-Talkie works with invitations , we can invite people who, after agreeing to want to talk to us, will appear available in the app for us to communicate. Adding a new contact is very simple, we will do it like this:

1. We open the Walkie-Talkieapp on our Apple Watch.
2. Click on “Add friends +”.
3. We select the contact that interests us.

By doing so, said contact will receive an invitation and their card will appear in gray in our app until they accept it. When this happens it will turn yellow and we can establish communication. If we want to eliminate a contact, we simply slide to the left on their name and press the red cross.

How to send and receive messages

Sending messages via Walkie-Talkie is very simple , we will do it by following these steps:

1. We open the Walkie-Talkieapp on our Apple Watch.
2. Click on the contact we want to talk to.
3. We hold down the middle yellow button while we speak.

We can talk whenever we press the button and without time limitation . The other person will listen to us in real time, that is, our message is reproduced as we speak. Sometimes the message “connecting” appears after pressing the button, in that case we wait a few seconds for the Walkie-Talkie to connect. During the playback of a message we can use the Digital Crown to raise and lower the volume at will.

Enable or disable Walkie-Talkie

Walkie-Talkie messages are played directly on our watch whenever we are available . When we are not, we simply adjust our availability:

1. We open the Walkie-Talkieapp on our Apple Watch.
2. In the upper part we activate or deactivate the Walkie-Talkie.

Alternatively we can also activate or deactivate Walkie-Talkie from the Control Center by touching the corresponding button. As long as the button shows a yellow button we will be available.

Keep in mind that if someone tries to contact us while we are not available we will receive a notification notifying us of this , so we can listen to what we have been told and continue the conversation.
