Within the AutoCAD program you can configure the mouse buttons to perform the action of your choice instead of their specific actions, a very common example is changing the right click to function as the « Enter » key since this key is use constantly to finish the operation of the tool that we have used, then we will show you how to do it.
Steps to use and configure the right mouse button as the ‘Enter’ key in AutoCAD
- Having open the AutoCAD program we have to look for the AutoCAD icon and click on it, and then we can access it by clicking on the options button located in the upper left corner
- When you are in this window, select the “User Preferences” option, and then click on the ” Right mouse button customization ” button located on the left side of the window.
- After having done this, a new window will open in which different options will appear, in which the most recommended option that you should activate is “Activate action with time-sensitive right mouse button” in order to have the right mouse button configured to that can perform the function of the ENTER key.
If you keep the click pressed for a longer time, a context menu window will open, which is configured to appear after holding the click for 200 milliseconds by default , you can configure the duration of this function in the right button settings and set the time you want, after that you will have to select the Apply and close option, then click OK in the options window.
