How to use Instagram collaborative collections

Instagram has incorporated collaborative collections into its social network. A new function designed to save and share publications with your contacts. We tell you what it consists of and how to use it in your day to day.

Instagram is a social network designed to share photos and videos of anything imaginable. But it also makes it easy to save the content you like the most and enjoy it in the form of collections. It is a function that has been with us for a long time. In addition, recently Instagram has added the possibility of creating collaborative collections . Because good online content is best enjoyed in company .

An Instagram collection is nothing more than a private space that we can create on any topic, user or type of content. Once one or more spaces have been created , there you can send, or rather, save videos and images that have caught your attention and that you want to keep safe. Instead of searching for them or having to download them .

And with the collaborative collections , from now on you can share the Instagram content that you find interesting with your contacts and/or friends. You and the users you choose will see it. Also, when shared, “all members can see your saved posts and add others.”

Create an Instagram collection for you

Lets start by the beginning. Before looking at collaborative collections, let’s first look at private collections , the default option so far on Instagram. Collections is a feature you’ll find on Instagram for iPhone and Android . Not, however, in the web version of this social network. They serve “to organize the publications saved  on Instagram”. You can save a video, a photograph or a reel.

To create collections:

1. Enter Instagram and click on your profile picture
2. Tap on the dropdown menuin the upper right corner
3. Go to Savedand click on the + button on the top right
4. Choose any post and finally tap on the Add button

Another way to create collections:

1. Within a post, tap and hold the Save icon
2. Press the + buttonto create a collection

To view your Instagram collections

1. Enter Instagram and click on your profile picture
2. Tap on the dropdown menuin the upper right corner
3. Go to Saved

To delete Instagram collections

1. Go to Saved, inside your profile
2. Enter the collection you want to delete
3. Click on the dropdown menu
4. Select Delete

Create a collaborative collection

Now let’s see how to create a collaborative collection . This is a shared space where you and your chosen Instagram contacts can save posts that you find interesting. It’s primarily intended for the Instagram feed , but it also works for chats and any other posts you come across.

Instagram gives us some warnings about collaborative collections :

• Private collectionscannot be shared
• A collaborative collection cannot become privateonce it is created
• Posts from private accountsare only visible to those who follow that account
• If a creator deletes a post, it will disappear from the collaborative collections
• Anyone can upload and/or deletepublications in collaborative collections

To create collaborative collections on Instagram

1. Within a post, tap the Save icon
2. Choose the New Collectionoption and give it a name
3. Tap on the button to the right of Allow my friends to join the collection
4. Choose which contacts you will add to your collaborative collection. Maximum, 250 people
5. Finish creating the collection by clicking on Save

To create collaborative collections of a chat

1. Enter the chat section
2. Tap a conversation from the chat list
3. Tap the Saveicon next to the post you want to save
4. In the new window, tap on New Collection
5. Give it a name and then tap Save

Among the particularities of the collaborative collections of a chat , “the people with whom you share it will receive a notification in their messages.” In addition, “collections you include in a group chat will be visible to future members of that chat.” And, conversely, “those who leave or are kicked out of the group will lose access to the collaborative collection associated with the conversation.
